Not trying tio justify what they did, but that lady appeared to be inebriated and had a weapon in her hand. it wasn't until after she showed it to them that they tackled her and took it.
I do not think Patricia Konie was inebriated. Her speech in subsequent interviews is the same as it is in the first video. Her movement in subsequent interviews is the same. Many elderly people have halting speech and impaired mobility. It was after a hurricane in horrible, oppressive humidity and heat. People were dirty and wearing minimal clothing. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Mrs. Konie was inebriated, no breathelyzer test, no field sobriety test, and no blood alcohol test. None. Nada. To suggest such is ludricous.

Even so, let's suppose she was inebriated. She was in her own home. Last time I checked, it is perfectly legal to drink alcohol in your own home in New Orleans Louisiana.

If you have any solid evidence other than your flawed assessment of Mrs. Konie's speech, movement and general appearance, please present it. Otherwise, consider this argument failed.

Ever think for a second that people were indiscriminately shooting each other? Looters shooting homeowners, homeowners shooting looters? Might have been why they acted as they did; helps to have the entire story.
How about posting a few specifics regarding this too. Who was shot by looters? Who shot looters? How many bodies were found with bullets in them?

To date, other than Ronald Madison and James Brissette, Coroner Louis Cataldie has reported no dead bodies in New Orleans with bullets in them. Dr. Cataldie is still accounting for the dead. Do you know something he does not?

I think that one of the problems (and there were many) is that many of the officers doing the confiscations were from out of state.

I watched closely the NOLA confiscation video on You Tube and one of the officers clearly had a California Highway Patrol patch on his uniform. SS behavior are SOP in California.

I don't think I should post on this thread. I'll only say this...

You'd have to have a lot more evidence than the way that woman sounded to assert that she was intoxicated. We ALL sounded miserable and raspy during that time. I worked ALL day clearing trees. We had NO air conditioning, no running water, not even a decent way to take a bath. Mosquitos large enough to carry off a terrier chewed on us constantly. A lot of us has sore throats due to the water-- and NO way to really treat it (I had one for 3 weeks.)

Yeah.. we weren't all that spry sounding. Oh.. and I NEVER touched a drink.

Guys, you CANNOT judge what you see of Katrina's aftermath from the perspective you have when you are sitting in your armchair with the air set nicely at 68 degrees and DON'T have a tree sticking through your master bedroom. That is armchair quarterbacking at its best.

.45&TKD... yeah, I saw a LOT of CHP down here. I am not going to engage in "cop bashing" so I won't mention the general disposition they had. I'll just say they aren't welcome back.
