Guns that got away!

I've had some heartbreakers.

SAFN Egyptian contract w/ spare barrel. I put it up for sale at three bills when I was in dire need of cash. The buyer was literally leaving with it when I went in to pull it off the line.

Colt Police Positive Special. Second Gen. A somewhat ratty old piece I could never justify having. I bought and sold it several times over the years until I lost track of it.

CZ 452 .22. Shot hundreds of small game animals with it. Absolute tack driver. I bought it in 2000 when they were still dirt cheap and before there was a CZ-USA set up or the "A" (America) prefix rifles out. Lost it in a separation, but the good news is I reclaimed it after buying the ex a new CZ. It was all rusty, but cleaned up nice. I'll never let it go now.

Mosin-Nagant M-39 from my birth year. I stupidly let it go because I was out of room. I want to get one again some day.

Cosmo you know those M-39s aren't THAT hard to come by.
I however would live a SAFN, I belive they were in 8mm, right?
BTW I request your feedback in the tactics forum.

Every time I think of these I shutter and shake my head in disbelief...

FN FNC Para
Springfield Armory SAR-48
Hungarian SA-85M
HK91
Valmet M76
Rock Ola M-1 Carbine

There are others, but these I miss the most.

Yeah, WGA has two 1970's right now. But I never seem to have the cheddar when the toast is hot, if you know what I mean. I'm sure I'll get one eventually. I'm not holding out much hope for a minty SAFN for three bills though ;-)

I have two:

1) Walther PP .32 ACP, West German, traded for a FIAT 850 Spider

2) Colt New Service .44-40, ammo was too expensive, and I did not reload. Of course Cowboy shooting changed the ammo issue, about five years too late.

20mm Lhati - $99.95; 20mm Solothurn $189.95 - both circa 1962. Had the money, just could figure how to smuggle the shipping crates into the garage past the Old Man...

The Ones That Got Away~!

Whew, I hate too think 'bout 'em :(

A Colt Match Target Woodsman 3rd series

4x Colt Pythons (one 4" nickel)

A Smith & Wesson model 18

A Smith & Wesson model 38 (factory nickel)

A Smith & Wesson model 39-2 (factory nickel)

and the list goes on and on~!:banghead:

Sako Finbear 30.06 synthetic stock and redfield widefield scope. Purchased for $600 and pawned for $400 in 1996. I will never pawn again.

About 12 years ago, when I was 21. My friend's father had a Walther/Interarms stainless PP in .22 LR in excellent condition. He was going to sell it to me for $250. Every day after that has been a very sad day.

Argggh.....This hurts to even talk about.

About 10 years ago I parted with an all-TRW M1A Supermatch--for a song. I'm STILL pissed that I didn't sell something, anything but that gun.

The worst deal I missed was what I though was a HK-91 that a friend of a friend wanted $2500 for......turns out it was a real PSG-1 !!!

In the eighties I bought a (1944) Springfield M1 Garand for $225 and a Eddystone 1917 U.S. Enfeild for $125. Sold them both less than a year after getting them because I was stupid. There have been several others, but those two hurt the most.

I only sell guns I don't like, so I can't complain on that.
