Isn't there an article on internet about H&K p30 where someone has put through 91,000 rounds through it?

I think this is link to that particular site.

I've never had a problem out of my XDM 9mm with over 3,000 rounds through it so far either. Same goes for my CZ75B with a similar round count. My point is that you don't have to pay $1000+ for a gun that works. If you really like them than by all means enjoy yourself but for me, the price difference is too much when there are many other high quality arms available that are more fairly priced.
Heck no. CZ, Sig, Glock...all had WELL under $1000 and all perform. I've shot HK P30, they're nice and accurate, but did nothing that my $500 CZ can't, or even my $600 Glock. If youre going to hover at a certain price point, at least offer something that warrants several hundred dollars more.

My current 'go to' pistol is a P30 in 9mm. I've also had a USP in .40 that I sold because I don't care for the caliber, but the pistol was fantastic.

Folks can say what they like about the price, that's up to each individual to decide what they care to spend on firearms, but the quality of HK's products is hard to dispute. I do think that folks like to fixate too much on the extra couple hundred bucks an HK costs when they plan to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars in ammo and training. I'd rather save up and buy what I want. Buy once, cry once. YMMV.

Also, the interwebs, this site more than others, is full of guys who have issue with HK's customer service. I'm curious as to how many of these folks actually have had a bad experience with their CS and how many are just parroting what they've heard and read because "we suck and they hate us". I'm just curious because I doubt most HK owners would ever need their CS department and many who do, especially at hkpro.com seem to have good experiences. Just curious....

You can get better deals by buying slightly used HK's that are still in excellent condition, and often like new. People sell them to fund other projects or if they need money.

Mine is my every day carry, I have never had a malfunction; from 120 gn frangables to 220gr handloads and every thing in between. The only thing I have not tried is CCI shot shells.

USP 40 Compact

I own and carry a USP 40. I don't like the grip. It feels too square. I installed a Pachmayr slip on grip which improved the feel. I like the position of the trigger relative to my finger and the single action trigger pull. It has been 100% reliable.

I imagine this won't provide you with the information you are seeking. There will probably be a sampling error as those with an H&K will be more likely to vote in the poll and/or generally participate in the thread.

Of the 50 or so handguns that reside with me, there is only one HK pistol;
a HK P7-PSP trade in. Well used, but still very serviceable.
It is a complex marvel of ideas to produce a very safe sidearm for carry.
I have not shot or handled any of the polymer framed HK pistols, as I am rarely drawn to plastic handguns.
I do own three polymer framed handguns. After seeing how accurate, reliable & lightweight they were, I wound up purchasing three;
A Glock Model 20
FN FNH-45
Steyr M9-A1
If ever I get to sample a polymer HK pistol that is to my liking, there may be a fourth plastic pistol in my safe.

Carry a HK 45c exclusively -- best forty five I have ever owned.

Even when stacked against a two thousand dollar les baer I previously owned -- it comes out on top.

Then I have a USP tactical for suppressed / range use only.

I've owned a P7M8 for well over 20 years and I love it. It is one of my most favorite handguns. That being said, I have no interest whatsoever in any other H&K handgun.
I wouldn't mind an MP5 subgun though...

My EDC for the last few years is a P7 PSP, I've carried some very nice pistols but this is the closest to perfection.
I'm going to be at the range evaluating my new USP 45C with my Colt 1911s to see who's going to be Queen of the Nightstand Heavies...

I have a P7 PSP and love it. Accurate completely out of proportion to it's size. My dream gun would be a polymer framed single stack in .45 with a more conventional mag release that I understand was later added to the line. I would pay out the nose for that pistol.

Well sounds much like you are talking about the H&K P7M7...except it didn't have a polymer frame.

It shot very well and was very accurate...but a bit messy with it's oil system.

I would pay out the nose for that pistol.
The last offer I heard for the only one outside the factory..it is in America...was north of $20k. And that offer was rejected by the owner

I know of it's existence, which somehow makes it even worse... If they released one, I'd consider paying those stupid high first few months of gunbroker prices that we all love to bemoan. I'd put my 1911's on the chopping block for it without thinking about it.

I'd most likely regret it, and realize it couldn't hurt to wait a few months and pick one up quietly around MSRP, but I wait and find deals on everything else. If anything would be worth the crap people pull for PS3's and iPhone 5's... To me, that pistol would be worth it.

Have owned 3, sold one. Not sure if I'll buy any others unless they come out with something truly new that addresses the common HK complaints.

USP45f- Best double action .45 ACP full capacity pistol on the market IMO. Smooth shooter with the dual recoil spring assembly and the steel reinforced polymer frame. Much more accurate than I am able to milk from it. With 13 rounds on deck and a weapon light, it makes for an excellent HD pistol, if your situation dictates a handgun is a better choice than a long gun.

P7 (PSP)- Many winning virtues with the pistol, and in my opinion, the heat generated is the only real downside. Ergonomic, slim bodied and a natural pointer. Beautiful constant pull trigger. Low mass slide, low bore axis. Lefties like it. When I carry an HK, this is the one.

P2000v3 9mm- Nice gun, but the absence of the safety lever found on the USP makes it a DA/SA option only. Compunding the issue, the factory trigger pull in both DA and SA are not in the shooter's favor. Customizable back straps make it fit almost any hand size. Lots of recoil and muzzle flip, more so than any other 9mm I've ever owned. I attributed it to the tall bore axis and the single recoil spring & bushing setup, which I don't think is as effective as the dual recoil spring setup of the full size USPs. This one got traded off b/c while it was a good carry pistol, I personally find the Glock 19 is a simpler, more efficient 9mm compact in all areas.

With the current lineup, I don't see myself buying any more HK pistols other than the two I already have. Unless, of course, they come out with a striker fired pistol with a nice 4-5lb constant trigger pull with a lower bore axis and a lower mass slide. I guess what I'm asking for is HK's version of the Caracal. That would be a real winner in my book.

A lot of people I've met that complain about firearm prices have been seen leaving in their $40,000+ vehicle with a $600/month car payment. Irony; to each their own.

I have an HKP2000sk in .40/.357 sig. It actually came with both barrels for about $800 new which was an awesome deal. I believe it to be the best subcompact on the market.

I also have an HK USC converted to a UMP which is awesome but mags are currently unavailable.

I'm a fan of HK. I think they are a very innovative company and their products are top quality. Sure, they are pricey but their products are top quality. I also think the P30 is the finest handgun on the market but too large for CC carry so it's not the highest priority on my want list of guns but i intend to have one eventually. I wouldnt make a USP tactical in .45 either but i do kind of prefer the FN .45 tactical because of the higher capacity mags and integrated red dot mount.

HK Survey

A friend bought a P7 shortly after they came out and I would have liked one then, but couldn't afford it. I bought a PSP a while back, and it quickly became my favorite handgun. Can't say enough good things about it.

I own two P30's in 9mm. One has the standard LEM trigger and the other has the light LEM trigger.

They were both purchased used but in excellent condition and have been great guns. I carry the standard LEM model 99% of the time and my 14 year old son shoots the light LEM for fun and competition.

I average 1K rounds a month through my HK so the initial price, about 30% higher than a Glock, M&P, etc., is well worth the higher quality and ergos.

Yes, have owned 5 USP's in variuos calibers over the past 16 years. Have a compact 9 currently now.

I have prev owned an HK USP 9mm, USPc9, USPc45, HK45, HK45c, HK P30L and a P2000.

The P2000 was my fav. The P30L jammed non stop. I ended up trading it back in at the shop I bought it. I just wasn't in the mood to send it back to HK, and I didn't feel right selling it to someone.

The USP 9mm gave me an issue 1 time - two rounds got sandwiched against each other. The mags are all polymer with no metal lining. HK replaced the mag and it never happened again, but I just didn't trust the mag after that. I've never had that happen before. I had to take the mag plat off and use a metal rod to knock them free. They wedged together (holding the follower down) and all the rounds above it just bounced around loose.
