Have you ever had a .22LR for defense?

I never had a .22LR for SD but a .22 WMR semi-auto rifle was my only option for awhile. Neither are my first choice but either are far better than nothing.

Yes. I was out in a field on foot checking some cows. A stray/rogue German Shepherd was out in the field. I tried to chase him off. Fired a shot near him in the dirt. Didn't change his mind, he was coming at me at full speed, hair bristled and meaning business. I empty the BLR 22 LR into this dogs face and chest as it ran full speed. I am not sure how often I hit, but I hit enough. It dropped dead a few feet in front of me. My heart was racing. I thought for sure the dog was going to get me.

Sorta. My NAA mini is my back up's back up....or just my back up if I'm not belt carrying anything. Only time I was ever accosted, I pulled a .25ACP RG26 on the guy, never had to fire. He got the hell outta Dodge. That was way before carry was legal, but a good portion of the people of Texas did, anyway.
