Hi point pistols

Mine has never failed to function when I'M shooting it. All I've ever fed it was FMJ. It will jam up when my wife shoots it though. Limp wristing is my guess. Other guns of mine though, don't jam when she fires them, and I assume she's limp wristing them as well, but they just have a better tolerance of it. I think it is silly that a pistol this big uses a single stack mag, but oh well.
...it would not feed hollowpoint ammo. although Hi point does say not to use hollowpoints.
I'm going to feed my HydraShoks through this C9. If this thread is still open, I will report back.

This is the worst attempt to make up a story I've ever seen. So you mean hes not going to get it repaired for free? He didn't return it to the seller since it jammed on the very first shot?, he doesn't mind throwing $150 in the trash? Can't you make up a better lie? I would of rather you said it bursted into flames and Satan him self popped out of the chamber and slapped him.

Not keeping it doesn't mean throwing it in the trash. It could be the case that rather than spend the money on shipping it back to the factory (which is a significant fraction of the cost of the gun in the first place - remember non-FFL holders cannot use USPS to ship a handgun at all, and when shipping via Fedex or UPS it HAS to go overnight - I spent $75 shipping a pistol through Fedex once), he may just decide to cut his losses and sell it. As soon as you have to factor in shipping for those "free" repairs you're already looking at the true price of the gun jumping up by 25 to 50%.

I can't see myself buying one of the pistols, but the carbines with the new stocks are pretty tempting.

I had a Hi-point 45 for a while it ran ok. A guy offered me more than I paid for it so I sold it. I just got the 9mm carbine about a month ago. I have only taken it to the range once. I put 150 rounds through it. No malfunctions at all and really fun to shoot.

Who would run 3.500 rounds through a gun and only clean it twice? That said , any weapon that can run 2.000 rounds without a cleaning or failure is unquestionably reliable.

Maybe I'm a snob but I wouldn't buy one if it fed a million rounds without failure.

Ive got a Hi Point C9 that is used as a boat gun.Never a hiccup out of it.Warranty is the best in the business alot better than Rugers warranty that I have had problems with.

Gotta admit, I have recently considered buying one. I have some .45's and 9mm's that are more expensive guns, and have kinda wanted to get a .40 s&w but not spend a lot on it, and my local shop gets High Points for $159.00.

I don't have one, but I think it's neat what Hi-Point did, they found a niche that was under-served (low price point guns that work) and filled it.

All their guns are blowback designs, are they not? That is clever. A fixed barrel means the bullet has nowhere to go but straight ahead. In other words, it's easier to avoid making a wholly inaccurate blowback action gun, than if the barrel is moving around in there.

And the whole deal is simpler and requires less fitting up and precision generally.

Of course the downside is you need a humongous slide. I ran across a fellow selling Hi-Points at a gun show, checked out the .45 and asked him, with a straight face, if he had an ankle holster for it. I don't think he knew I was joking--if he did, he does the straight-faced routine really well. He simply replied that he didn't have any holsters.

I would consider another hipoint if they start making high cap weapons. Something that heavy and big should carry double what it does.

No complaints on function though.

Too heavy for me. I too believe it is snobbery for the most part. I've seen a lot of Hi Point at the range and the owners love 'em. I love 'em all. If it goes bang every time and you like it to heck with the snobs.
