i have seen some of these and was wondering if they are any good i have shot there handguns and other then being REALLY big and ugly it shot fine if any one has one of these rifles or shot one i would like to know what your impressions of the weapon were

thx

The carbines are supprisingly good, especially for the price.

Drop 'em in an ATI stock, and you've got a CX4 Storm lookalike...

A lot of people don't know what they're talking about.

Besides, most will agree the Carbines are awesome. Its the pistols that always invoke heated passion.

Personally its going to be my next firearm.. I just did a little research today on them and the only thing people seem to dislike about them is how ugly they are.. One of my friends has one and its plenty more accurate than $180...

they are doing them in .45 's now, sweet. An aftermarket stock does make them look alot better. Problem is the mags, I don't think there are any aftermarket mags for these yet, and the factory ones are limited to 10 rounds, and their quality ... is ... mmeh...

I love my 9mm model. I had no idea that the .45 model was out. I cannot wait to pick one up.

I have a battered and well used 995 9mm carbine.

Shoots fine, accurate enough. Safty is clumsy. The carbine itself is sort of clumsy feeling. It's preformance is fine.

Probably hard to beat for the price. I've seen much more expensive, and "higher" quality firearms that didn't work nearly as well as the much malighned Hi-Point carbine.

I have one in .40 and the only thing I don't like is the lack of bigger magazines. The carbine is very accurate and has never malfunctioned on me.

I love my 995. I've only put about 100 rounds through it so far, but that will be changing shortly. I just need to order a few more mags.

Hard to beat a sub-$300 carbine that will knock the center out of the bullseye without even trying.:D

Do they work?
Yes.

Are they accurate within the reasonable range for 9mm?
Yes.

Does a semi-auto, single-stack, 9mm rifle make much sense as a tool for most shooters.
Probably not.

Is it an interesting anti-elitist novelty.
For sure.

Do I have a use for a semi-auto 9mm rifle of any flavor.
Absolutely not.

Loving Wife has given me her 30 carbine, in exchange for my 995!!! She LOVES it, accurate, low recoil, will feed any mix of ammo I could feed it. With +p HP ammo and 3 mags it is her new "house gun".

PS She thinks it so ugly it's cute! Says the same thing about me. :D

I have the 4095 and for the money it is great
It is accurate enough out to 100 yards that I can easily hit the target

The only real problem is the lack of hi-cap mags for it the largest capacity I have found for it is 15 but I have heard of problems with reliebility so I have not got any, and the safety is so bad that I do not use it I just empty the weapon either by shooting it or taking the magazine out and the round out of the chamber and lock the bolt to the rear

Mine 9mm is a great shooter and as ugly as me. Put a scope on it and be amazed how it gets even more accurate
trigger could be better and you need 3 or 4 factory mags
A fun gun and cheap to shoot

Funny story- a guy once asked what it was and I told him it was Isreali surplus from the 67 war. Let him shoot it and then he saw the name. he said he heard they were junk but changed his mind and now owns one. Go figure!

My 995 is a very fun gun to own and shoot. Very accurate and reliable. Well worth the $230 or so that you'll spend for it. It hits where you aim it and it goes bang every time you want it to.

My only complaint is the lack of good high cap magazines for it. There are 15 rd Promags for it but I hear they're crap.

Mine lives in the front of my safe, one of 2 that stays loaded and ready should the need ever arise.

What exactly is the problem with the 15 rounders, is it something that is curable with some tweaking and trimming or a overall design flaw?

Own a 995 in an ATI stock. It's fun and cheap to shoot. (Even cheaper than my AK.) It's my home defense gun right now, as I'm waiting on my pistol permit, and 9mm will probably kill less of my neighbors than 7.62x39 or 7.62x54R if I miss. (Houses on either side of mine about 50 feet away. I'm not confident that 9mm will stop at my walls, but I'm SURE that any 30 caliber rounds will not.)

The 15 round mags are a mixed bag. Some people have good luck with them, some people cannot get them to function at all. Some people have modded the feed lips, or the spring, or the follower and gotten them to work, some people have used them as target practice.

I hear the newest 15 round magazines have been improved and now seem to function better, but I haven't gotten to try any of them as I live in Screw York. :banghead:

I've fired the 9mm carbine; worked every single time and plenty accurate. I personally didn't like the ergonomics, but that's personal preference. Would make a good HD gun for places where it's a pain to buy a handgun.

They are great. I want a 45carbine as soon as they come out with them. I am hoping they make the 45 carbine compatible with 1911 mags, now that would kick butt.

My 9mm 995 is very reliable and fun.

I love how people trash them but then are annoyed by how well they perform when they try one.

I recently bought a new 4095, and it's a lot of fun! Very accurate and reliable, but it's ugly as sin. Definitely "no frills", but I bought it for fun plinking, not s/d or combat. The 10-round mags don't bother me, I'll just get several of them.

The ATI aftermarket stocks are only available for the 995 9mm carbine, not the .40 4095.

The 4595 is "under development", not due for release until late 2008/early 2009. Supposed to look like this, but they've dropped the chrome trim (thank god). And no, they WON'T use 1911 mags. Bummer. I have a sackful of those.

Guys, the first 4595s are going to go real quick. The less people that know about the release date the better.

Shhh ;)
