This has probably got to be the most one-sided poll I have ever seen on The High Road. Very impressive! I guess it's safe to say that us gun-owners have guns for different things.
10mm three pistols Witness compact, Witness full size, Witness Elite Match
7.5X55 Swiss two K31s
308 / 7.62X51 they're the same to me Saiga conversion and Rem 700 / Hart bbl.
45acp PT145, SA XD45, Marlin Camp Carbine
22rf Ruger bull barrel match pistol, Browning takedown rifle, Mossberg mil. trainer
45/70 Marlin 1895, Ruger #3
Yes... because bringing friends to the range that aren't familiar with firearms decreases the chance of the wrong ammo going in the wrong gun (loading .40s into a .45 magazine).
I have 4 .22 and a couple of 12 Ga. I am about to add either another 7.62 X 39 or 5.56, I have one of each. I have to deciede which caliber will be my primary SHTF caliber.
Certainly! I like some calibers and I am trying not to add any more calibers but I keep adding guns.
I have 29 duplicates of various calibers. From seven handguns and long guns in .22 Long Rifle to two .38 Specials. I plan on adding a second .45 ACP in the next couple of days as well.
I had a few guns in the same caliber (sadly now I have none). A few reasons that I can think of (some apply to me +, others don't -)
- Tried to keep one gun in each caliber, but ran out of calibers.
+ Had shotgun for me and a friend for trap
+ .22 is cheap, needed one in pistol, bolt action rifle, semi-auto rifle
+ I liked the feel of a .357
+ Zombie Attack
+ Less need to store/reload multiple calibers
+ odd ball calibers were too expensive
yes.
.223
.45
.9mm
.40 S&W
.357 SIG (i think, dads not home so i'll have to ask later)
12 gauge
i think thats it.
dads collections evolves through the years as his taste changes. however, there is always a .45
oh, almost forgot one
5.7 *grin* now how on earth did i almost forget that!
i bet the reson for people only owning one of a caliber is probably because their collection is not very large.....yet!
The real question is why not? haha, different guns have different uses, bolt actins are usually a little more accurate than the semi alternative, they are also a litttle lighter. but semi FALs, M-16s, AKs are fun as hell to rip off a clip and kill whole familys of targets
