Some of you have enough ammo to wear out barrels, barrels I tell you!. I will not allow myself to post the priviledge on the # of ammo but I need more.
Normally I watch for sales for calibers I shoot and buy it then.
For some things you can get price breaks if you buy a lot at once. I needed more surplus 308/7.62x51 for my fal earlier this year and once I found out the south african worked well in my fal I talked to aim about a discount. They had a price break if you bought 10 cases so I bought more than 10 cases.
With how that ammo has gone up in price since I bought mine I feel I did a good job in buying myself enough ammo for my fal to last maybe 5 or 10 years.
I am going to have to get into reloading I guess, I am shooting about 1k rounds a month through my handguns at the local indoor range in a gun shop and that is just centerfire stuff.
I used to reload, I just need to dig out the stuff and set it up and order up some supplies.
After seeing what some of the guys here keep on hand I can now explain to my wife that I don't have enough . I only keep a few thousand per weapon ( .40, .45, 7.62x39, 7.62x54, .22, .357 , .45-.70 , .308, .338 ) . Generally shoot 500-1000 rounds a week so actually have been depleting my stash since I only usually buy 400-600 rounds a week . Sometimes buy craploads all at once which puts me back to where I was , but really need to make a seperate stash or cut back shooting .
