Not enough!

I am in the process of moving and the carrier would not ship ammo, primers or powde. So I packed a 50cal can with some choice fodder enough to feed at least one or two of my toys and sold the rest:( :banghead: It is sad day when you have to sell close to 2K rounds of ammo and 10 lb of powder....

if you excuse me I need to go cry for a bit :(

Sportsman's Gag won't ship anything near DC, and paid off government extortion by Yolo Cty, CA a few years ago, rather than tell them to go to hell. (Since SG isn't IN CA, no CA agency has any authority over them.)

They don't get my money.

Why this question?

How much do you have. Please detail how many guns you have, how many calibers and how much ammo you have for each caliber.

I think that this is getting a little too nosey. I don't know who reads this forum, and or their motives.

To answer your question. it's my business.

I'm not sure which is more useless, post that resurrects this thread to say "good answer" to the 4 month old reply, the guy who says "none of your business" to the 4 month old thread which already contains half a dozen posts of that nature, or mine lamenting the other two. ;) I suppose it is that last one from me, eh? :)

ETA: I suppose if I'm going to comment I should try to contribute. I try to keep a minimum of a few hundred round in each caliber/gauge. Usually more in the spring that I bought during the winter and less in the fall after shooting in the summer.

I never really count unless im doing an inventory of what i have or when I buy fresh ammo.{small lots a couple hundy rounds with the exception of .22LR I always check the count and do a quick inspect of all the rounds, cases and I just pull one out of who ever many boxes say one out of five two out of ten and do the same}

Dr. Evil voice; 1 million billion trillion rounds!?!

9mm = 7000
45 = 2500
40 = 1800
223 = 4000
308 = 3500
7.62x39 = 2000
7.62x54r = 1600
8x57 = 2000
22 = 10000

That is the stash not what I have to use.
My friends say if _____ happens I'm going to your house.

About 10 k .22's. Maybe the same in 9mm. 2k: .45acp, .357m/.38sp, 308/7.62, .223/5.56, 12 ga. Less than 1k .44mag, .40, 7.62x39; need more of these. Joe

I alway try to keep at least 2,000 rounds for each caliber I own on hand. .22 I don't count because there is always 5,000 to 6,000 rounds of that around. Tend to burn through the .22 faster anyway.

If I could lay off shooting for a while it would stock up faster. Generally I buy 100 or 200 9mm a week and 100 40S&W. and the alternate the next week buying more .40 than 9mm. I also buy another brick of .22lr whenever I get below 2500rds.

The problem being I can easily shoot 100 each of 9mm and .40 and several times that of .22. on any given day I walk outside and shoot.

My goal is to have 2500 each of the larger calibers and 5000 of the .22lrs.

Of course that does not count .22 wmr and 762X54, yikes it will never end.

I need a second job just to buy ammo! :)

I cannot remember who I am ripping this quote off from, but a THR member said it best a while back:

How much do you have.

Enough to start a war, but not enough to finish it.

That's me... for now.

5k 22 lr (took me a looooong time to get that high, probably almost a year, everytime i bought a brick i tried to sack one away)
5-6k other calibers.

i buy all my reloading stuff in bulk, and i like reloading, ergo, i tend to have a lot of ammo built up :)

This changes often, but:

1000 or so rounds 7.62 Combloc
300 rounds 7.62 NATO
1000 or so 9mm Parabellum
50 rounds 7.62x25mm
3,000 or so rounds .22 lr
40 rounds .243 Winchester
200 rounds 12 gauge (various types)
500 rounds .223 Remington (62 gr bthp)
