If money was no object

1000 acres in West Texas so I could shoot all of my guns without ever having to pay a range fee or pay for a hunting lease.

After that, a few Glocks, a few Ruger GP-100s, and a Dillon 1050 to load ammo on.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

The scenario reminds me of the one about the Genie and the man;
The Genie gives him 2 wishes--his first wish is for a pint that will never go empty. He tests it, knocks it back, and it re-fills a second later.

For his second wish, the wise fellow says 'Hey Genie, give me another one of those magic pints!'

In that spirit, I would order up another cherry late production M-1 Garand even though it is redundant.

A really nice SXS shotgun, in either 12 or 28 ga. Something that costs more than my house is worth.

Sob story: Back in the early 80s, I thought a Thompson would be really cool, so I asked my local dealer about getting one. He said "About $1200, tax stamp included".

Bad part is, I had the money, and decided to get a couple of new unlimited silhouette guns instead. :banghead:

A Shiloh Sharps #1 Sporter. Customized like so: 30 inch heavy octagon barrel, .45-70 Government chambering, accent and background fill, AAA finish with an extra fancy stock, ebony schnabble tip, polished barrel, fireblued screws, checkering, sling swivels, and a bone 'n charcoal finish on the receiver. Yes, I have been drooling over these for a long time.

I'm A Simple Man

In keeping with the OP's intent, I'd just get a flawless M1A, probably with a synthetic stock, with a decent scope, and the standard ammo-pallet accessory.

However . . .

When I was younger, a friend of mine said, "I wish I had enough money to buy a Cadillac."

Knowing he didn't actually like them, I asked why he wanted a Cadillac.

"Oh, I don't want the Cadillac, just enough money to buy one."

And proceeded to tell me what he would buy with that money.

That has stuck with me ever since.

In that spirit . . .

Something dreadfully expensive. Sell it, discounted, for twenty or thirty thousand. Take proceeds and buy that M1A, a decent 1911, and an AR-15. And that ammo accessory.

All done.

shameless bump:D

also, I finally settled on my own decision-
NFA MP5SD, a dozen 30 rounds mags, and enough money to persuade those in charge in NY to lighten up on the class three regulations.

Behold my Holy Grail should a rich relative decide to leave me cash.

Some kind of double rifle....Dunno about Searcy specifically, but I love the quote on their ads.

This one here is around $15k in .375H&H. $4k extra for a matching 12ga barrel.

That's an easy one. A FA 18 with a hundred or so of each type ordinance Plus a Million rounds of 20mm armor piercing ammo. Oh yes, plenty of jet A to keep it flying. Is that too much to ask?

Happy Landings!

My needs and wants are simple. I want a Freedom Arms model 97 built to my specifications. Chambering will be either .32Mag or .44Spl., the chambering is my biggest problem. I'm actually buying this gun after the wife graduates next year.

Well, I've been wanting one of those Henry Youth lever action .22s.

I already bought the expensive stuff I wanted, give me a break!

Tough question...

Geez, I can't think of anything really expensive that I think I would really enjoy.

I'd say, for ordinary Title 1 firearms, probably a high-end AK in .223 with 16" barrel, Vortex flash suppressor, and an Aimpoint or Kobra, but probably on a standard stamped 1mm receiver for lighter weight, with an M4 style adjustable stock and a detachable light, plus mags, a lifetime supply of ammunition, and tuition for a few carbine classes. Or, perhaps a really, really nice Remington M700 in .308 or some moderate long-range cartridge, with the tactical style ergonomic stock and a high-end Leupold or something sitting on top.

I'll also take a side order of Bersa or Beretta small .22, a Seecamp .380 with aftermarket Trijicons, a Glock 17, and a medium-frame .357. And a bigger safe. :D

Title 2/Class III stuff? I'd love to have a reproduction DeLisle (sp?) carbine (cut-down bolt-action Enfield in .45 ACP with integral suppressor, modified to feed from 1911 magazines), because I read an article about them once and thought they were really neat. And, unlike Class III automatic weapons, I might could actually afford one of those someday...

AR50 with a big ol' Leupold scope on top. Certainly not the most expensive rifle on the market, but dang awesome. With the money saved over most of the other stuff listed here I could get a few hundred rounds to feed it as well!

Someone on THR has posted a picture of theirs, wish I could remember who.

It's an awesome thing.

If money was no object

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, lets say you could get any gun(one gun mind you!) your little heart desires, and customize it anyway you wanted. this isn't the last gun you'll ever buy, or the only gun you'll ever own. more like some rich, eccentric relative told you "go buy something expensive for yourself. my treat!"

I'm actually not sure what mine would be, so I'll post back in a little while.

Money being no object an M-16 multiple gun motor carriage four .50s inside an armored personnel carrier would be fun to drive friends to the range in towing a trailer with spare ammo.

Single hand held firearm would be Simo Haya's (SP) Model 28 Mosin Nagant or the M1 Garand my dad carried in the Pacific in WW II.

I would literally have been beating my head off a wall daily from May '86 to present had I made that decision.
However, I was 6, and probably building something out of Lincoln Logs or Legos, maybe trying to get some Atari time in.........
