I would pay for a front seat at the dinner banquet celebrating the repeal of certain legislation, origins 1968 and 1986. A hefty sum, I guarantee.

I've always liked the real nice double rifles but we all know how expensive they can be. With money not being an issue this one would be my choice of firearm. Not that I have a real use for it mind you, but just to own it for free would be beyond great. Besides, what's $69,000 anyways when it's no skin off my arse?

Well, since we're just dreaming here, I'll take a nice Beretta 455EELL SxS double rifle, preferably chambered for .375 H&H. Since it loists for $47K, that's never going to happen.

I want a pistol that hits like a .45-70, recoils like a .22, packs like a P380, but feels like a 1911. If money was no object, of course.

Other than that I've always wanted an SR-25 or a really custom one-of-a-kind 1911 built to my specs.

1). A decked out Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad with the mossy oak stock.
2). Maybe a Springfield Armory SOCOM 16.
3). A one-of-a-kind Ed Brown Kobra.

First thing that came to mind was SA's M1A Scout Squad with the mossy oak stock though. All decked out.

An M16 receiver would be the most versatile, I think - with that one hunk of metal you can make it long or short, change calibers, use iron sights or scope it.

Second choice would be a full-house custom 1911 by Ted Yost.

An NFA item is tempting, but the thing is, since I don't really want to go through the hassle of being an NFA owner, I'd probably settle for a really high end AR15.

I don't really want to go through the hassle of being an NFA owner...

What hassle? The hassle is with becoming and NFA owner. Is there something I don't know about being one?

Anyway... I'd probably select something from an entire range of NFA items. Of course I'd need to give it some thought, but if I were put on the spot, I'd say a Thompson. An original from way back in the day. One with a story would be a major bonus.

the one gun i can't own... HK MP5, not sure on the variant... but of course the full auto version... just became enamored of them a long time ago... and its not let loose... :)

Maintaining your corporation, if you go that route, keeping the paperwork straight, etc.

Granted that might not bother some people and many do it regularly, but I'm just really not that comfortable with the high level of government intrusion it opens you up to, plus the BATF can kick down your door any time day or night, no warrant necessary, they can take the gun anytime they want, etc.

I might eventually get something Title 2 if I'm ever in such a position, but for a Destructive Device or machine gun, I'd want to go big or not at all.
