If You Could Live In the Most Gun Friendly State, What State Would That Be, IYO?

There is a limit on the numbers, so others will come in.

A sense of humor will help! I'll use 2 letter abbreviations for the states to save time.

Totally hypothetical. Most of us , for so many reasons, can't budge.

In my state tho, I can have any type of firearm, pistol, rifle, suppressor, sbr, full auto, etc. It costs $20 or $25 for a conceal carry license or as my state calls it License to carry(LTC) that lasts for 5 years and no special training classes are required.

PA is also an open carry state.

I can build a shooting range(which I did) in my back yard in my county with proper backstops for safety.

The selections in your poll preclude about 31 states. Not sure if that was intentional or due to laziness.

Some will be certain to take umbrage...I will try not to.

So...if I base this strictly on my own research (which is not exhaustive) I would vote AK, VT, probably AZ...with WY and AR close behind...being that they have Constitutional Carry.

Although, to be honest, I have not delved into these laws to see what other restrictions may be present.

I will say that I like the current trends, and hope they continue.

Choosing where to live is simply not based on what the gun laws are. But generally speaking I choose a location to live based on the climate and topogaphy primarily along with taxation and job opportunities. The gun issue is secondary, but still important. Urban vs Rural, or Big City vs Small City is more important to my selection.

That said, I would not want to live anywhere in NY, NJ, MD, MA, IL, or CA which tend to be the more restrictive states as well as higher tax states.

I'm okay with VA laws, although I'm seriously considering moving to the NC coast for the fishing during my remaining days alive. VA has fair gun laws, IMO. I can carry concealed or not. VA is a "shall issue" state". I've never ever encountered a problem with L/E here regarding a gun in my vehicle, hidden or open.

I voted KY because they amended the state constitution to preserve the rights of the citizens to include the right to hunt and fish. AZ was a close second.

Yeah, but there's a very specific reason for that. KSP runs a new check every month on every CCDW permit holder.

I'm happy in KY but I voted VT because no permit is needed for CCW.
