Welcome to the July Rimfire Match! This one is open to any and EVERY 22 caliber (as well as 17 and 20 caliber) rimfire rifle including 22 Mag, 17HMR, and 5mm Rem RF Mag. This match is meant to be challenging and FUN. Hopefully it will get you out to the range and shooting your rifle. If you have one handy, make sure an bring a friend too.

You may enter with multiple rifles.

There is Two Optics Divisions:
->50 yards for iron sights and non-magnified optics and red dots
->100 yards for any Scope or Magnified sighting device.
Please note the change in distance. This is double distance month!

There are Two Rifle Classes:
->Unlimited/Target Rifles (highly modified rifles, rests, target sights, high magnification optics- over 10x [in the appropriate division] may be used)
->Sporting Rifles (Includes All Non-Target Class Autoloaders, Bolt Actions, Single Shots, Pumps, & Lever Rifles)

Target Class can be shot from any position, Sporting Class is shot from any position without a rest or sandbags. When you are satisfied you've done your best post (or shoot me a PM) a photo of your target for scoring with the following information. The Targets Will Be Included (or linked) Below...

Non Magnified Target: 50Yd. Target- Shoot 10 shots at the center of the target. Scored 1pt. per box as it approaches the center, for a maximum of 7 for the area in the center of the target (four squares in size). Additionally a 3pt. bonus will be awarded for any shot lying within the red circle (including the white crosshair area up to the marking "3"), but beware of the boxes as they award no points and represent a 2pt. deduction from the score. Maximum score of 100pts. for the entire target.

Magnified Target: 100Yd. Target- Scored same as above...

Scoring Guide Self-scoring is encouraged and appreciated. All submissions due before August 1st, 2010.

Thx for setting up yet another of these. The increased range will be fun. Probably humbling too, but fun.

Can someone walk me through the steps to print the target the correct size?
I'm only getting 1/4th of it on a page.
Thanks

Never mind I got it. Had to save it to my computer and then print to get it the right size.

Yep, that work'd for me...and I have a backup copy just in case.

:)

I may be slow, but I don't understand the scoring... how does the "1pt. per box as it approaches the center, for a maximum of 7 for the area in the center of the target (four squares in size) " work?

Thanks.

Figured that might be confusing...basically scored as follows:

7pts. for a shot within the four points of the orange "pie slices"...
6pts. for any shot within the "1" marks...
5pts. for any shot within the line between the "1" & "2" (henceforth referred to as X.5)...
4pts. for any shot within the "2" marks...
3pts. for any shot within the 2.5 marks...
2pts. for any shot within the "3" marks...
1pt. for any shot within the 3.5/outmost line.

If you get within the circle (or white crosshair portion within the "3") you get a 3pt. bonus on top of the above score...

...but if you place a shot within one of the black boxes you are not awarded any points for that shot and loose an additional 2pts.

Clear as mud, right?

:)

I get it! the first square at the inside tip if each orange pie piece gives you 7 points. Theoretically that would make up a 2" imaginary square. Then there would be successive squares in successively larger imaginary squares, worth 1 point less per larger size square, all the way out to the end of the orange which would be worth 3 points. The square sizes are 2", 3", 4" 5" and 6". As a bonus, no matter which size square you hit in, if you get it in the white, you get an additional 3pts added to the squares value.

I think everyone gets that hits in the black are bad, and will lose you 2pts.

Does that sound right?

Mikey!

i was confused with scoring description at first.... but i think i got it. am i correct?

You mean use Blutarsky's scoring guide with the targets that are posted - I say yes.

I wouldn't want to shoot Blutarsk's target because I think the orange is going to help people - me - see it.

Close, but not quite.
the scoring is wrong? i wasn't saying to use that as a target instead, just to illustrate the scoring zones... with that in mind, are the scores incorrect?

ETA: i added a copy of it with the original lightly overlaid and not cropped just to see the zones over the original.

No the scores are not how Mav prescribed it.

On your second target. Where you have the "9" it is supposed to be a "7". Keep going down in increments of one until you get to "3". If any shot is within the white "+" part of the square, then you get a 3pt bonus.

You got it right. Thank you so much for the simplified scoring guides, it is very helpful. Hope you don't mind that I added it to the OP.

No, he got it right, you are close, but he has it down. Knew I should have kept it simple, often times I get too carried away.

:)

i dunno -- this is why i wanted to "see" the scoring zones ;) i re-read mav's further explanation in post #9 above, and i'm fairly confident that my zones are correct. guess we'll have to wait for further clarification?

EDIT: never mind ... replied when i was typing ;)

Heres mine. Had trouble with the Kimber as I lost the ball bearing in the rear sight
Hopefully I shot these targets the way they were intended

Wow!! is right! That's some great shooting! Looks like the bar is set very high right off the bat. Nice job!

I'm sure someone will get a perfect score in the target class before its over
Had some gusty headwinds today

I don't think my .22 will shoot 100 yds, say nothin' about hittin' where I want it to. Nice shooting Orlando! I know you were shooting at 50yds, but I can't see that far without a scope, so yeah!

Mikey!
