Not to steal Lee's thunder because I do think this new press is pretty cool and I'll likely end up with one for rifle brass prep. But I had no idea a swager was available for the LnL. Can you tell me more about it or direct me to where to see it online? I assume you pull out the primer punch and screw in a swager.
Nope, think inverted. The swaging die is in a regular die station and the cases are inverted on rods that support the inside of the primer pockets https://www.hornady.com/reloading/presses/lock-n-load-accessories/primer-pocket-swage-tool
I've got one setup for the 223/556 and it works great. Like said you drop them in the top inverted ( primer pocket up), it progress around to the swagger, then to the exit die. You have to pick them off the exit die, but there is a 3D printer part that directs them to a bucket. Once you get in rythem you can kick them out very fast, like 1 every 3-5 sec. Doesn't take long to process several 100.
Yep. Works well. Provides clean and consistent swage without damaging brass. I have used the Swage It on a 650. This replaces the primer bunch. It sort of works but relies on the case rim to hold the case while swaging.
After watching that video, Ill stick with my Dillon super swage. Hook a rubber band to the handle and swagger end and you have auto eject
It might be possible to size/deprime and swage a case with each handle cycle but I don't know how that'll work with a case feeder. During some point of the cycle the machine will have to kick out one case and feed another. Also, will the decapping rod work as a case hold-down during the swage operation? I think the decapping pin and spent primer would interfere with the swager button no?
