bryanZ06, Did Bruce Gray build your Delta Elite from a new Delta Elite he acquired and later you bought it from him, or did you buy a new stock Delta Elite and then sent it in to him to have the beavertail, sights, hammer, trigger, etc. installed on it (custom work performed as well)? Bruce did a wonderful job on that Delta Elite of yours.

I bought it right after they were re-issued. I shot it a few times in the stock configuration and then sent it off for a few minor things, but it ended up becoming quite the major project.

Here's a rundown of everything that was done:

-BarSto Match Target 10mm barrel
-Kart barrel bushing
-EGW plug
-Novak front and rear sight cuts (10-8 rear and gold bead front)
-action work with Wilson hammer, 10-8 long trigger, Wilson sear, EGW disconnector
-EGW square firing pin stop
-Wilson grip safety
-fit and blend EGW barstock wide safety
-30 LPI hand checkered front strap
-Brown flat mainspring housing (hand checkered 30 LPI to match front)
-50 LPI serrations on rear of slide to match sight
-EGW slide stop, checkered top and bottom
-EGW Checkered SS Mag release
-slide to frame fit touch up
-regrind slide radius, polish, French border
-slide ball cuts on spring tunnel
-tune extractor
-line straightening, light dehorning
-bevel magwell
-detail polish and fine bead blast refinishing
-spare Ed Brown extractor
-thin grip bushings
-Alumagrips thin grips with Delta medallions (Randy @ 1911-grips.com)

Thanks for the break down on what you got done to your Delta Elite. It's got me thinking.:D

Just heard from a buddy that S&W has announced that they will be adding a 10mm to the M&P lineup later this year. He indicated it was announced a the SHOT show??? Can anyone confirm or deny that? I did a brief internet search, and came up with a few forum posts, but none that seemed to address the specific claim.
A 10mm M&P? That could be really cool! Can anybody confirm?

The reason I ask this isn't because I don't like the 1911 versions. I LOVE the 1911, in fact, no pistol I've held yet feels as nice in my hands, and I can naturally and reliably come up on target very quickly. And, I do want a Delta Elite, or Dan Wesson RZ10...

The M&P platform is a good second in that regard. And, While there are some BEAUTIFUL examples of fine hardware and craftsmanship here (I love every one) I'm looking to that round as a 'woods' carry gun. I just don't care for the Glock ergonomics.

Thanks,
PE

I have several 10mm. The newest is a kimber eclipse ll and it is becoming my favorite. The chamber is much easier on the brass than the witnesses or the glock. Primer pockets are staying tight with more reloads. Good luck...great round. Need to handload to get most out of it though.

Polar Express...I agree with you, and a 10mm 1911 is alot to spend, on a woods gun.
I do it, though. I find M&P's fit my hand better than the large frame glocks.
While I won't buy one, if it gets more people into 10mm? The more the merrier.

Casefull...I'm getting better accuracey and my brass is in better shape. With my Eclipse, as opposed to my Delta. I put alot of money into the Delta. The Kimber is better out of the box. Nobody gets exited about the Kimber, like they did with the Delta, though.

well as my luck would have it I checked my local shop today and they had a g20 gen3 used with 2 mags and tritiums for $475, is this a good price?

How is the chamber support on the Delta? I ask because the Glock's one potential weakness is the small unsupported area at the feed ramp. My G20 is a new one, and this area is minimal, but I would prefer a gun that has a true full-supported chamber.

I missed this part of your post yesterday. I'll try to get some pictures with both the Bar-Sto and stock barrels for you.

I'd say it's a decent price. Not bad, not great.

Not the best pictures, but here's the stock and Bar-Sto barrel from my Delta.

Bar-Sto:

As you can see the Bar-Sto offers more support, but not quite as much as some of the aftermarket Glock barrels that people run "nuclear" loads through all the time. With range ammo or Silvertips it works just fine for me though.

My EDC Commander length 1911 in 10mm:

'bryanZ06' I had Bar-Sto fit a ramped 10mm barrel to mine. Here's a photo of its support for comparison.

Thanks for the pic. That barrel has a good bit more support than mine.

You all stink. I'm jealous, and therefore you stink. It's your fault too. What do you have to say for yourselves?
