Okay, so far I have shootr for 9-5x, Jon_Snow down for 9-6x?, and Master Blaster for 9-6x?...do the last couple look right?

:)

This is great! Things are heating up and I think we'll see more Xs after the weekend LOL!

OK Boys hers how we do it in Ohio

25 yards
33 degrees spitting snow 5 mph wind
Off bench with rest
Kimber 82 Iron sights
Wolf Match Extra

Maverick you really picked a tough one this month!
It took me shooting 4 targets before I could really get comfortable. Had to keep looking through my spotting scope to make sure were the small dots even were

Yes its a $400.00 so called Rusty Kimber. If you are thinking about it I wouldnt wait long. They are getting to the end of them
Trust me my eyes arent that good any more. The small dots looked like blurs, alot of it was done on instinct. I got lucky

I plan on scoping the rifle when I get the $$$$

He's there, you just need to hit refresh...it doesn't want to update until you refresh it at least once (have no idea why...thought it didn't take the changes the first time I revised it).

:)

Orlando - well done!! Now that's some good shooting and I'm very impressed you can even see those little dots.

With you on the "rustys" too - best deal in town and OBTW, did someone ask if they're shooters??? LOL!

Thanks guys
I dont own a rimfire with a scope so if I was going to get in on the March match I had to go nonmagnified
I didnt realize how difficult it was going to be until I got set up at the range
Hey, am I the only shooter at non magnified?? Come on guys give it a try.
My eyes are bad, if I can do it anyone can

Trust me I dont really care to go through the agravation of shooting a target like that again without one
I was cursing  whoever's idea it was for this target:)
I actually have two Kimbers and do want to scope one of them with a Weaver T-36. Then I can hang with the rest of you guys

Golly gee, you guys sure like magnification; I thought my plan to mount a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44AO (with fine reticle & 1/8MOA adjustments) to an upcoming .17HMR build was a bit excessive.

:)

If you are building a dedicated bench rifle x36 is fine. It would be to much if using for hunting etc

Orlando, I agree, its just that where I shoot (a fairly barren area with virtually no shade) 36x can play tricks on you in the sun. That said, I don't have a dedicated target rimfire. They do duty from plinking (mostly served by a GSG-5 and Remington Model 12) to squirrel hunting (mostly served by a Stevens 87D) to crow sniping (currently the Ruger 10/22) to target work (which is also mostly the 10/22), but none are target only ATM.

:)

Mav,

My "big" rimfire scope is 6.5 X 20 and it works fine for me. Would like to try a bigger one at some point, but shooting out to 50 yards, the 20x seems plenty.

Is yours a Monarch as well? I haven't mounted mine yet (got a good deal on a used one...about $125 shipped IIRC) as I am still waiting to buy a 93R17-TR(R) to put it on, but it seems like it will suit the rifle well. I anticipate that the fine reticle should work quite well for varmint and target work (but target acquisition would be far too slow for squirrel and such).

:)

No, mine's a Leupold. Scooped it up used from one of the little gun shops I browse.

Use the BKL bases and I think Leupold quick detachable rings. Set it up that way to switch between other rifles when working up loads. However, it seems to have found a permanent home on the Kimber.

Went out yesterday to see if I could better my score but afraid not. Cold, windy and didn't take enough targets. Probably would have run out of ammo if I had. LOL!

Think you fellas have it locked up. Good shooting!

Mav, minor nit-pick here, but I also have a 9-6X. I say minor because it looked to me like MB had a 9-7X, so I still think he's winning.

That's pretty mild considering last week's game. I guess I got off easy.
Eh, not a big basketball fan...wouldn't have even known about it were it not for my Alma Mater gettin' their butt's handed to 'em.

:)
