My 5 year old son has cancer :(

First off, Texas-sized prayers to your son and your family.

Second of all, I do Angel Flights.

http://www.angelflight.com/

I've flown a number of young children with cancer. My wife and I do not have children, so it touches me when I hear of a young man or young lady taking on this insidious disease and fighting it with all the courage, will and strength they have.

In the years we've been involved with this, I've seen a number of youngsters kick cancer right square in the butt. Kids are amazingly resiliant in spirit--so long as we adults and the adults they look up to and admire are strong.

I tell you this to offer encouragement--children beat this disease. Your son can and will beat it, too. Secondly, if there is ever any medical treatment he may need outside of your immediate area now or sometime in the future, sign up with Angel Flight and other medical volunteer flight services now.

If he needs treatment anywhere down here in my neck of the woods (Dallas/Fort Worth), let me know and we'll make arrangements to get him down here.

Best regards and sincere prayers,

Jeff

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. But the little guy has my prayers. My wife recently passed away from cancer after a lengthy battle. Headway is made on the research front everyday.

I sure hope he recovers completely. My prayers are with him for sure. I too had stage 4 Cancer in 2004 to 2005. After many operations, lots of Chemotherapy, I think it's all gone. There is always hope so I'm sure he will be a gun nut like the rest of us someday.

Glad to hear those infections have slowed down, Braeden! You know, Pal, we had a big fight here at the Alamo but none of those men..Davy Crockett or Jim Bowie were as Brave as you!

You are a hero to all of us in San Antonio and would love to see you down here some day! Take care and say "hi" to your Dad!

Johnny

:(

OP, If you are having financial difficulties(my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor two months after we got married, I know it isn't inexpensive), please contact your local Masonic Lodge and ask for a Scottish Rite or Shriner's hospital application. There aren't any guarantees that you will be eligible, but if you are, any care/treatment your son receives at a Scottish Rite/Shriner's hospital will be free of charge. You don't have to know anyone or be a member, nor will you be asked to join. The hospitals are open to anyone(under 18) whose parent/parents qualify.

I'm sure he'll pull through it just fine. :)

He is on his way home right now from the hospital, he was there with his mom for the past 5 days, i cant wait to see him. He doesnt get chemo at all next week so he will be feeling alot better. :)

I just donated 20$ USD, this is the worst thread ever on this forum. There is nothing truly worse than seeing someone with complete innocence suffer and fight for life... Seeing the joy sucked from his face after chemo is just friggen heartbreaking. Almost going to shed a tear here..

Well, its only 20$ but seriously I have never donated anything before this thread, and I really hope that it helps what little bit it is.

My thoughts are with you my friend.

I'm still praying for little Braeden and your family. My younger brother just got a clean bill of health from his surgery so I know God does answer prayers. Hang in there.

My thoughts and prayers are with your boy and your family. I will also go to his my space page and donate.

I know exactly what you and your family are dealing with. Don't ever let a day go by without letting him know how much he is loved.

My son is my hero and is part of every breath I take.

Put everything in Gods hands.Your son is in our thoughts and prayers for your family.

Oh Lord have mercy! I have a five year old Grandson and I know how I would feel if this were he. I pray that the healing spirit of Jesus will somehow rid his little body of this dreaded disease.
Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. This is hard for me to understand. I will keep him in my prayers.
