This is my first AR. It is a Bushmaster modular carbine. It has a Vltor Modstock, Wilson Combat tactical bolt release and charging handle latch, Trijicon Reflex sight, and a Sure Fire 6p with LED head. The sling is a cqb sling from specter gear with GG&G mounts. Let me know what you think.....gonna build another rifle, looking for ideas, and input. Torn between another AR or a Springfield SOCOM 16.

Very nice. I wish I had that kinda money. I really wanna get one of the HK or DSA gas piston operated ARs, but I can only dream right now. But, excellent looking AR & setup. Now go get some of those super nice HK mags to go with it, or a Beta C-Mag, or both.

i was looking at one of the gas piston ar's today from i think it was patriot ordinance today. i beleive that was the manufacturer. i need to do some more research on that design, i have no idea on how they work, etc....

Nice. What kind of reticle sight is that? Trijicon?

Shrink that picture down before posting it next time. :)

Please do not shoot steel case Wolf ammo in that AR; especially the old green laquered stuff - it will gum your action. If you wanna try the new clear polymer coated steel cases I'd like to know how they do. Wolf claims the new poly coating is far superior. I agree with that in theory but I'd like some results from putting that theory into practice.

Cementman, POF - Patriot Ordnance Firearms - makes the upper units for DSA. Everything I've read on them is good.

I've put 500 to 700 rounds of Wolf through my Armalite with no problems (the newer stuff). It is somewhat dirty, but it works every time. For practice ammo, it is cheap and reliable.

The only ammo I have had problems with is some gun show special ammo in bags. Had some primer sections come out and got a brass sliver in my bolt.

I have heard people say the steel cased ammo is hard on extractors, but you can buy a spare bolt assembly for less than the savings on a case of ammo. I have had no issues.

I've put a couple thousand rounds of the new stuff without any problems. I don't even clean it, just spray some CLP in the action occassionally.

cementmanjr, I just got the TRP. It is awesome. Best pistol I ever shot. I really like the Kimber warriors too. That's a tough choice you face there :)

I've shot about 1,500 rounds of Wolf 62gr with polymer-coated casing on my M4gery so far. Definitely dirtier than US-made commercial ammo, but no failures yet.

I do make it a point to clean thoroughly after every range session. Also blast the gas tube with carb cleaner every 200-300 rounds.
