Priceless!!

"Oh, it's okay ma'am, it ain't loaded."
"Well, the gun may not know that, so let's act like it is, okay?"

Hey Tamara, can I use that?

I'm a beginner where guns are concerned, but the first thing I did before buying one was research the safety aspect. I can't believe how many violations of the rules I've seen already from people who really ought to know better...!

Thank you. I wish everyone was like you. Unfortunately, I think as we get older and are around firearms more often, we get a litttle "too comfortable" with them and this is when accidents happen.

The dealer was L&G Weaponry - they've been around the shows for several years, at least.

All guns at Costa Mesa ARE zip-tied. The problem with a welded-mag AR (aka FAB-10) is that there's no way to pass a zip tie through the mag well, since there isn't one, really. Why one wasn't through the UPPPER's action, preventing the bolt from closing, I don't know.

The fairgrounds security guys were pretty sure it wouldn't affect future shows, though L&G will probably not be welcomed back.

A lot of customers and vendors were afraid of the venue being closed to future shows, though. We'll see, I guess

Not true. PLENTY of guns weren't. Whether or not it's policy for all guns to be zip tied, I dunno. All I know is, there were LOTS of accessible (not encased) firearms throughout the show that had no zip ties. Mostly milsurp rifles.

If it is policy, they haven't been enforcing it very strictly. That'll change from now on, I'm sure.

I did notice that many of the guns there were not zip-tied. But, I would also figure that bolt action rifles would at least have the bolt out of the gun instead of keeping them in.

Also pretty careless of the dealer's part to keep a gun loaded in the show and not checking beforehand. How there was a round in the gun is beyond me. He did not notice the round for the Saturday show?! That would mean the gun was loaded throughout the whole day of saturday.

Tsk tsk...

We had a ND here in P'cola, Fl. a few years ago. BOOM, silence....then someone said, "Can we shoot back!":D I was told that one of the dealers had a CCW and pulled it to show someone. I was about 20' away. One guy was nicked in the elbow.

The hole in the wall is still in the Bayfront Auditorium.

I was at a show in Dallas 15 years ago when a pistol went off, slightly injuring a woman. It does happen, unfortunately. Given the number of nitwits who do attend gun shows, along with good folks, it is probably a necessity to tie them.
