I know there have been a few 9mm handgun threads here lately and I’ve seen what
many folks carry and prefer.

Taking into consideration the subjective nature of firearms I’d like to know what in
your opinion is the best all-around 9mm in regards to capacity, ease of carry and conceal,
and easy to shoot.

Thanks in advance.

The S&W Shield is the first gun that comes to mind, with your requirements. AND, the ones I have owned will shoot any ammo well. Very accurate, good sights, and if you're not a small person, they're concealable. And, they're very reasonably priced.

There are many good handguns and it's a personal choice.

On the short list

XDm 3.8
Glock 19
Glock 26
Shield
MP compact
SR9c
CZ 75
FNS compact

I'm not that much into carry yet - but of the ones I've tried, I guess I lean towards steel more than the others so far.

Sig Ultra
Sig 938

both of which have been excellent shooters for me - and the 938 is a quite comfortable pocket carry. But that's for me. After doing much talking and typing concerning the matter. I have conceded to the majority. you have to try a lot of different things to find what you want - and what you don't. there just isn't much of a better way to judge.

Depends on how, and how much you carry.

I carry a lot, in FL, but I have gone through a lot of small guns and decided I really don't like them. So for me I'm looking at a mid-ish sized double stack for your requirements.

BHP, CZ P-08, Sig 2022, G19, XDM 3.8, 9mm 1911, FNS/FNX, VP9. Something like that. There's any number of them that will work great (and functionally identically. Just pick the one you like)

Some folks say that's too much to carry. Dropping to a single stack..... P7, M&P Shield, there's that new Glock, XDS, Sig 239. Again, there's a bunch that all work well.

IMHO, I wouldn't carry a 9mm mouse/pocket gun. Small gun, nasty recoil, and still going to end up bigger and heavier than a true mouse gun. Not worth the trade offs.

Decide what you mean by "ease of carry" and go from there. My free advice is not to compromise on a tiny gun. Get a good belt, hoster and a mid-sized duty gun and you will find it easier to conceal than you think, and if the worst happens you'll have a more capable weapon.

First, see what fits your hand, and what does not. Eliminate those that do not.

Second, decide where and how you want to carry it, and list which pistols meet the need without being too small.

From those, try before you buy. See which ones you can shoot rapidly and effectively.

Three that I feel would work well. If you wish for a D/A type the Walther P99 is a good choice.
Then without D/A both the Walther PPQ and the new HK VP9 are great choices.

Go handle a bunch and pick what feels good. There are plenty options that are up to the task, the big thing is which one will fit your hand the best. I have a large hand and can't handle small autos as a rule, but the glock 42 and j frame are dreams in my hand, but I cannot shoot my buddies glock 26 without pain and blood. Just handle them all and when you find one that fits you then you will know immediately what to get.

Check out CZ PCR

If I had known about them, I would have probably picked up a CZ PCR.

It is essentially a CZ75 Compact (with decocker) on an aluminum alloy frame.
Seems like a winner to me.
In my youth, however, I wanted the "cool" sig and got a 226, then a 239.
Seriously, check out what CZ has to offer.

Lets see ease of carry and conceal, and easy to shoot.

sounds like a .22 pocket pistol and it is better than a 9mm
laying at home in the dresser.

Rent a gun at a range

BRJ,

I would first go to a range and rent some guns of the type you are interested. Actually handling and shooting a gun is the best way to decide what fits you best.

Most of the guns in production now are more than adequate. The BERETTA, CZ, GLOCK, SIG, SMITH & WESSON, SPRING FIELD ARMORY XD and WALTHER all have their good points and bad points depending on who you ask. I like simplicity, so I tend toward the GLOCK, SPRINGFIELD ARMORY pistols or Double Action Only pistols like the BERETTA 92d models.

All are accurate enough and very reliable. Just try some of them and decide which features you want.

If you want to carry, it's hard to beat the size, weight and simplicity of the G19. But, I prefer my Walther P99 with the decocker to the Glock. It's got a noticably better trigger, vastly better ergonomincs, and I feel light-years safer with a chambered round in the P99,after clicking the decocker.
For an accurate, fun, sweet shooter, the steel framed CZ75 takes the cake,IMO.
Another one to consider is an old 3rd generation S&W, like the 6906. It's been my EDC since I got it several months ago. They seem to be seeing a discernable surge in popularity recently, and aren't quite as available and cheap as they were, but they ain't hard to find in the $375-425 range.

The question you pose, as you see, nets a plethora of answers covering more guns than you can Google in an evening.

This ....

"Which gun is best" is like asking which shoes should I buy. Ask yourself, "Do I want a safety or not. Do I want hammer or striker fire? Do I want something light or something easier to shoot?"

Don't be in a hurry, do your homework... then enjoy your new gun.

The 9mm field is huge. Lots and lots of good pistols. That said, I like my G19 quite well. I have discovered that I really like the "mid-sized" range that it lives in (along with the SR9c, M&P 9c, etc.). They're big enough to shoot well, and small enough to conceal easily.

For me?

Glock 19 or CZ P-07. Ruger SR9c gets honorable mention.

I'd like, at some point, to check out the CZ PCR since I'm sure that'd make the list once I got some range time with one.

How about a SIG 225/P6? Single stack, aluminum frame, comfortable, but not too small-SIG quality and reliability....Nice surplus P6's are still showing up for around $400. I also have a 232, 238, 226, and 220, but the P6 is my nightstand gun beacause my wife and adult daughter can both hold and fire it effectively with their smallish hands. Love it.
