NUTNFANCY gun reviews

Isn't the Air Force Reserve military? I didn't think he was full time military. I believe he has a regular job and is a PT cop and member of the AF reserve. But, I'm just speculating here.

If you want to see good youtube videos go look at hickock45. I'd rather watch someone shoot well than blab on and on for an hour about his opinions on a gun that he doesn't even own sometimes.

The guy seems very... I don't know... I came across one of his vids where he claimed he liked to say "blade check" to his buds and expected everyone to whip out a KNIFE when he did...and then he high fives them. I don't know what sort of people he hangs with but in my own circle the response would range between a "what's your malfunction?" stare (that's me, and I keep an assisted opening folder in pocket all the time and sometimes more) and an unzipping of pants.

I know that's a small thing, but to me it screams of a reality disconnect. That leaves me questioning his ability to make observations that would be relevant in the real world...which means I click away.

As someone that was looking to evaluate guns and make decisions on which to buy, I found his videos helpful. Mostly because he gives a thorough review and you can really see the gun function in every way and in some cases he has firing videos of the same gun. Also, he often compares to other guns at the same time. That provides alot more than can be gathered when holding a gun for 30 seconds at a gun shop and all they want to do is sell you a gun.

His opinions are just one and that has to be considered, but I think he fills a niche that is appreciated by man. Is he long-winded and/or over the top for me?.. sometimes but still I don't fault him. Talk to me about bees and I get long winded too and some would say I am nuts.

I used to watch nutnfancy a lot, but recently tuning into rugersix. He seems more down to earth he isn't always talking about being tactical.

not to rag on officers or the airforce.. but, stating if he has any real affiliation with the military, that seems to be POG enough for him. i liked the first few videos of his i saw.. but shortly i grew to resent him. he reminds me alot of an atypical mall ninja.

The guy promotes honest, responsible gun ownership and allows people to get a glipse of hardware they might not otherwise see. Some of his opinions I agree with, others I don't - that's human nature. If you're looking for a gun reviewer who you are going to agree with 100% of the time you better look in the mirror and start writing because you found him!

NUTNFANCY needs SERIOUS editing. Length of discussion does not neccessarily equate to VALUE of information.

Excellent observation. He could use some direction. For example, if I were working with him, I'd sit down beforehand and have him list all the strengths and weaknesses of a given weapon. I'd have him write a short, 3-6 sentence introduction of the weapon and what/who it was designed for. Then Part One would be the intro, followed by a quick rundown of pros and cons.

Part Two is firing it at the range and pointing out any of the pluses and minuses mentioned above. Follow that with a 3-6 sentence summary. Make for a very entertaining 5-min vid. If he wants to go another 5 min, then make Part 3 breakdown and reassembly, doing it like the Ruger guy does (Ruger guy be good).

To be honest I think the only real reason he is successful is because:

a: a bunch of mall ninja's watch his videos

b: he is one of only a few doing that quantity of reviews on youtube

He talks too much. An hour and a half about AK vs AR? Just seems like to that guy those are the only two types of rifles there are to choose from. At times, in his attempt to act professional, he comes across as comically foolish sounding.

I'm no mall ninja, but I liked his SG videos. Probably the best internet video information on the comparison of pumps I'd ever seen.

link to the Loki guy please

I looked, and couldn't find him. One of the links that I used to have didn't work.

Too bad too - good for lots and lots of mall ninja laughs.

Hopefully someone else can post a link to some of his videos. They were comedic gold.

Informative vids on wide variety of topics and most after hands on experience. Alot of work for one guy. I appreciate his information and his effort.

I like his video's and I'm about as anti tacticool as you can get.:D

If your looking to purchase the gun he makes some good points and does some fair comparisions.

Did he ever wear ACUs in any of his videos? The one I just watched he was wearing multicam, and although there are those pushing for wearing it, it's not an Army uniform. BDUs are no longer an Army uniform (as of May 2008 if I'm not badly mistaken) so he could wear those also with no allegations of AR 670-1 violations.

But seriously, he could wear jeans and a t-shirt in his shooting on the move videos and someone on the Internet would probably accuse him of being a SFOD-D, CIA, or SAS wannabe.

I watched a couple of his videos and I found them informative. I did find it strange that in his gas piston vs. direct impingement video that he left out all the rifles that are designed with gas pistons from the ground up: say the Sig 556 for example. He spent 30 minutes on gas piston vs direct impingement and only mentioned ARs.

I think it might have been aimed at the AR enthusiasts, what with all the mall-ninjas fangasming over the AR-piston guns and conversions coming out and whatnot.

Just as to the debate about his service history, he's definitely Air Force (and not to be nitpicky, but it's Air Force, not airforce or air force- c'mon guys, just because you served in the Army or Marine Corps doesn't mean your service is the only one that counts or warrants respect) and has specifically mentioned a few times that he was/is a pilot. Obviously if he claims to be part time LE as well he's now in the ANG or AF Reserves.

That was specifically about AR rifles, not about piston/DI guns in general.

If you think he's a mall ninja, well that's your opinion.

My opinion is that he offers quality unbiased (as in he seems that he isn't paid off and does say negative things about what he reviews) vids with a ton of info and links and he does it in an entertaining way. Perhaps he does sound a bit Bill and Ted's at times, but so what? I'll endure a few "dudes" and "what's up" and "tactical" coming from a guy who at least seems to know what he's talking about and admits when he doesn't know it all, admits he doesn't have as much trigger time with something to provide complete info, admits when he makes mistakes, and so on.

His vids are long? Perhaps some of them are. But I rarely watch a vid of his that I think is too long. There are crappy DVDs that sell for $25 a pop for about an hour's worth of boring droning by someone so stupidly scripted it seems completely fake. Nutnfancy offers these vids for free and his unscripted bullet point method is refreshing. If you don't like them, don't watch them. If they're so painful for you that is :D :p

And his vids beat the poor camera quality guy in his room with his piles of cloths and empty Coke cans strewn about mumbling incoherently about whatever he's reviewing.

Not saying you have to like nutnfancy, but so far the critiques seem like pretty cheap shots coming from armchair directors.

im not a fan of his at all. i subscribe to several other channels but his wont be one due to the fact that i dot like him or his sister personally. he has complained to youtube about people rating his videos low and essentially trolled other channels that say they dont agree with him on something. i think he knows what hes talking about but sometimes just acts childish. i like "the armory channel" "goindef" "kiwitedferny" the last one tend to be more about historical firearms, specifically wwII so if you are a fan of WWII weapons hes your man.
