Names are bad enough but the addresses just make it down right criminal.

I also notice that people like Schumer is not listed but is rumored to have a permit. I bet all the high profile anti's have been removed from the list. Very hard to not make it political.

What a sick situation... I just got my NYS permit, with surprising celerity - 7 weeks! And it's just for "target" use - it's not even full carry. Lots of paperwork, an NRA class, four detailed character references (notarized!), and then waiting, while all sort of background checks are being done (presumably more thorough than NICS)
After all of this vetting, this person who set this site up is worried about someone like me?
If they were in any way rational and intellectually honest they would:
1. Make *their* domain records public, including contact info
2. Create a database of released violent felons, and where they are living - especially those with firearm violations

I am mad at myself for not knowing this was public information. This information needs to be handled with the same respect as medical or financial information.

Well what do ya know...that list says i'm packin... and they are right. Definately a violation of privacy thats for sure. And possibly endangers all those people who have been employed in security or law enforcement fields where people know your name and want to kill you. Thats great, now every dirtbag i've tossed can look to see if i'm packin and bring an ak-47 with them instead of that 9mm the were gonna bring to assassinate me.

I really don't know what to do about this. In my mind, I can only come up with two options and both of them have their negatives.

My first thought was to call people in my town, that I don't even know, with numbers I can get on whitepages.com or a phonebook. But how awkward would that be? "Hi, I know your name, address and phone number AND that you own a handgun." Whatever you say after that, the person will be absolutely freaked the hell out and they probably will hang up on you.

My second thought, which I think might even be worse than #1, is to call the local news channels and have them do a story. But then, a whole freaking lot of scumbags are going to be typing in cities and zip codes looks for people to burglarize.

All I can say with certainty, in reguards to this situation, is that someone needs to hang for this.
