For that front sight, once you get it centered up properly, I'd use red loctite and lock it down permanently unless you might have a need to remove it at a later date, and then I'd use blue.
It isn't normally that bad with a rimfire, but I had a Russian Mosin M44 that was loose and it's a good thing I caught it before it fell out or it might have been impossible to replace - The groups were strung out horizontally (windage all over the place) until I figured it out and put the red loctite on it. (Got rid of it shortly thereafter).
Eye doc said something about having to avoid shocks for about a week or a bit more after the surgery, so maybe rimfire shooting will be okay. I'll ask him today when I go back in for the consult with the opthalmic surgeon.
