Question for those in "Right to Carry" states

Lived in Idaho for several years, which has some of the best laws on CCW that I know of. No restrictions on bars. Go on in and have a few. But you'll definitely be prosecuted for discharging a firearm in the city limits, etc.

What?! A state government that trusts its citizens to act responsibly?! Amazing!!

Now I'm in NC. As others have noted, ya can't carry anyplace that serves booze, anyplace that charges admission (museums, zoos, and yes movie theaters are out as well), banks, picket lines, parades, demonstrations, riots, and anywhere a state of emergency has been declared. In addition to nearly all parks, all public buildings (state, federal, county, city), and any sort of school. About the only place that _isn't_ off limits is my car and Wal Mart. Going out to dinner means leave it locked in the car or eat at Wendy's. Thanks be to God, a new IHOP opened nearby. Good food, open 24/7, and no booze served. One place in town where I can get a sit-down meal without having to leave my gun in the car or at home.

In Utah, you can be where alcohol is consumed, but you cannot carry while intoxicated. The legal standard for carrying drunk is the same as for driving drunk.

Absolutely. I grew up in Washington County, and now live in Weber County, when I was single, I lived in Salt Lake County, there is no shortage of bars, alcohol, or drugs in Utah.

There is no law prohibiting carrying in a club or bar, but when I know I'm going to one, I call anonymously to ask if I will be searched for weapons. If they refuse entry to CCW holders, I either leave it in the car, or I don't go.
