So what's your favorite CCW?

Except for a few weeks (at most) in winter, the weather in SE Florida only allows me pocket carry. At least that has been my tenet, reinforced by decades of experience. My preferred carry in that circumstance is this 5-shot .38 Special J-frame, a S&W Model 60-7 Chief's Special in stainless steel.

Nice. I pocket carry a 640 (38 Special). What brand of pocket holster is that?

I love my P365 and carry it owb in a Galco Stinger. I've also been pocket carrying an LCP Max for a few months. The 365 replaced a Kahr CM9 that I carried for years and the Max replaced an LCPCustom.

Thanks for asking. I've even went through my personal archives (a tedious task) and searched online, to refresh my memory as to the brand name. No dice. I got it not long after I bought the gun, which was about 20 years ago. It's still the best pocket holster that I have; rigid but the inner material holds the gun securely and the trigger is completely covered. I hope someone will recognize the brand style and let me know so I can get another one. That is, if they're still being made. I couldn't find any anything online that remotely resembled this one.

Yesterday my neighbor showed me her brand new in the box 9mm S&W MP Shield. Shes 74, tiny and arthritic. The LGS sold it to her and i have the inclination to tell them to take it back. Advertised for those with limited abilities due to age I immediately disliked it. She can barely cock it and the mag falls out at the merest graze of the protruding release. It is way too big for her, the grip is too wide and the angle looks wrong. That said i do like the new grip safety and the 3 dot sights. Will meet with LGS owner this week.

Anchorite, the Safariland Model 25 Pocket holster is the closest that I could find when I searched online. It has some of the features that I mentioned in my earlier reply. If it's the same brand, however, then it's probably a newer version of mine. In any case, I'm not sure that their current model will fit my S&W 60-7 in .38 Spl., it being an older model. They do list it as fitting a 60, but only the later .357 mag version, so I'm not sure how that would affect the fit.

Update: Blade-Tech. I was able to make out (barely) the brand logo on the holster. No name listed of course. It seems they don't offer it anymore or any other pocket holster from what I could see. The best bet seems to be the Safariland that I mentioned.

Two answers:. In the console, SP101 3". In the pocket, on the hip, or whatever, a EC9S or a Micro 380. ARX ammo in the autos, jsp in the SP. Truck gun, a Security Six 4" with a Win 92 behind the seat.

Lots of different favorite CWP handguns.

1) The LCP2 is my favorite for hot and steamy weather, the times you really don't want to deal with weight...
2) S&W 442 is my favorite CCW nice size and lightweight.
3) Taurus 605 357mag. J frame size but a little more weight to eat up the recoil. Great for hiking in the South were you may come across a 4 legged threat.
4) Bond Arms Rowdy 45/410 great for snakes including the 2 legged snakes.
5) Taurus 415 41mag handy size with authority for 4 legged threats. Carried in a pack pocket, jeans pocket, and OWB
6) S&W 686+ great woods walk carry. Normally OWB. (My favorite handgun)
7) XDM 45acp compact. Carried when near the wrong neighborhood IWB.

Missing a 44mag next on the list!!! Western states hiking.
Maybe a 10mm after just because!!!

629 Deluxe. They’re a few dollars cheaper than the other 629s, and about 1” cooler

After being around the sun a few times and lucky enough to try out a lot of calibers and guns. I’ve decided on a CZ PCR aluminum frame as the best edc for me and the Benchmade Adamas is my “fart around the homestead” knife.

The one that gets the most carry time is an older 3" SP101 in 327 Federal Magnum loaded subsonic. I am in the process of rethinking my carries, because SC now allows open carry to the extent that I don't have to worry so much about failure to conceal. I always dress to conceal rather than pick a gun to suit my wardrobe. I am just used to it. Bigger guns are under consideration. Even my smallest gun carries better when using suspenders, not having to hitch up my pants every time I move, so we'll see what seems to work. Fashion and CCW don't mix very well. Carrying tiny guns doesn't appeal to me.

My favorite CCW "holster" in the right rear pocket of my Carhartt overalls. Very comfortable, no constant pulling up pants, and always there. Forcing me to reach for my wallet may have unexpected consequences.

I know this has been discussed a million times but what the heck I'm on a favorites kick.
I'll start out by saying in this brutally hot weather I'm partial to either my 2" Colt Cobra 38 special or my Sig P365 as they both carry easily in the pocket of my cargo shorts. ;)
Today's all time favorite is a Dan Wesson Guardian in 38 Super.
I say today's because historically it's always been a commander in 45ACP but I've become a real fan of the 38 Super in the last couple of years.
This is all about concealed carry around about town or in an urban environment, in the woods is a different matter. :D
I'd say my S&W Shield 9 mm or 642 .38 special. I find I don't really like anything bigger than those for carry.
