There have been a few I’ve regretted selling, but I’ve had the good luck to get this Model 28-2 back not once, but twice!
Been there, done that a few times myself.Sold a gun and a few years later decided to buy another just like it. The thing is that I have always ended up selling that one too.
Me neither. And reality is, I'm 75. So if I did harbor any regrets (which I don't) about guns I "let go" of, I'm not going to be around to harbor those regrets much longer. Heck, for that matter, I'm starting to think about unloading (no pun intended) some of the guns I didn't "let go" of over the years.Long term, I have no regrets about any that I let go.
I should thin the herd again one of these days.
I'm getting up there in age and, in the end, it's just "stuff"...

the one gun that I most regretted selling was a Ruger M77 MKII in 6.5x55. It didn’t have any sentimental value.

decided I’d go buy myself a new Tikka T3X Hunter in 6.5x55. Figured that would do the trick. The Tikka is most likely going to be more accurate. It’s a slicker, lighter package than that Ruger. It’s more suited to me, BUT that M77 wouldn’t leave me alone.
I never bought a Tikka. I got the M77 back, so no need. The Tikka just didn’t feel as good in my hands.Well...for a gun that has no sentimental value, I can't for the life of me understand why you'd want that Ruger back over a Tikka. I'll buy the Tikka from you.
Shanghai McCoy
True, true but it sure was fun getting there, especially with the thrill of the "hunt," chasing down the newest "latest and greatest", playing with it for awhile then moving on to the next one!
Ouch. At this stage, when I look in the safe and say "I should probably sell a few," my wife of 40 years says, "Don't do that. You'll regret it."When I first got married my ex convinced me to sell my guns to use the money for a vacation.
I’m with himNope.
Have never sold a firearm!
