Strange Midway USA issue

I order a lot from Midway. My most recent order was a Galco holster. They sold it to me for about $20 less than I could have bought it straight from Galco. I don't know why it cost less, but I do know I will check with them next time before buying another one.

I purchased a .308 chamber reamer that was burnt blue and showed machining marks on it. I contacted them and was told they would not exchange it. Live and learn. Definitely better if you want quality gunsmithing tools to pay more and go to Brownells.

Earlier this week they had an item that showed up on sale when I searched it, but came up full price when I added it to my cart. I e-mailed them, and the response was:
I apologize that the (item I was looking for) price changed while you were searching for this on the website.

...

It is possible that we had an overstock on this inventory. Once we sell down to our desired level of inventory, the product immediately reverts to its ‘regular’ price. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for you.
It was nearly $20 off of a $100 item. They refused to honor the sale price. I called another parts house who still gives me a military discount (account was set up while I was active duty). I got the item for less money (even with shipping) than Midway's regular price, and also ordered several other items. Midway has some work to do if they want my business.

If I need something , I just drive down to Midway & get it , I drive down to Midway at least once a month. They are a great bunch of people down there !

I actually got an 870 barrel from Midway, everything was there and fine & dandy, except the box containing the barrel was opened previously, The barrel was there. But the box was open previously.

Just found it really odd.

Don't order as much as I have in the past. Over the past several years their pricing on many items as risen quite a bit while competitors have remained the same or had slight increases. I have found several items priced well above MSRP. When I contacted them they thanked me for my business.

Once received a Redding neck sizing die that was still a blank. Hardly Midway's fault.

Odrered spare magazines and next day!!! they were at my porch. Awessome store!

Midway is usually very good. I've had a couple issues, most were handled well. However, do not order single 50rd boxes of match .22LR ammo. They will arrive scattered throughout the box. They used to put these in a plastic bag but no longer. THREE TIMES I ordered some and THREE TIMES they had to send replacements. I've heard from other folks they STILL do not prevent this from happening. Also, if you order blasting media, the inner plastic bag will have a hole in it from the staple used to assemble the outer cardboard box.

I have been dealing with MidwayUSA for over ten years now and have to say they are one of the finest companies to deal with either on line or by telephone. In all the years, I have had only one problem. It was a defective rifle scope (not their fault) and MidwayUSA replaced it promptly. I have talked with Mr Potterfield on the phone several times and met him at an NRA show. He is a fine stand up guy! :)

They have not offered free shipping in yrs.
Really?
I call an order in - drive 2 miles down the road.... go to the "pick-up window" and VOILA!

(sometimes I have my neighbor pick it up and bring it home for me - she works there)

I've NEVER had shipping charges, lol.

I enjoy ordering from Midway and have yet to have a problem. They ship fast and the prices are fair for the service/selection you get.

That is DANGEROUS! Midway being 2 miles from my house...yikes!

I'll bet you a dime for a donut that someone bought it, took out the die set and then returned the plastic case for credit, upon which, Midway looked at the plastic case, and said "it's in good condition" and put it back on the shelf.

Kind of like the guys who buy a nail gun at Home Depot, build their garage with it and then clean it up and return it a week later.

Nothing but good things to say about midway. They seem to ship much faster than expected (I love a company that says shipping expected in 5 business days, and its received in 3, opposed to companies that say 5, and it ends up being 8)

Customer service has always been top notch, and I generally receive packages that are overpacked in comparison to other companies. Lots of air pack etc.

Great company

I plan on taking a trip out that way at some point if for no other reason than to see that part of the state and not pay a hazmat fee & shipping on powder and primers. ;)

Bought one of those, only it was a broken miter saw. Apparently they didn't even open the case to see it was full of sawdust. Let alone that the blade guard was broken. But they did tape it back up.

Midway does a great job and I order from them often.

About a month ago I had a similar problem as the OP on an ammo delivery from another company.
I ordered some .308, but they also shipped me 7.62x39 which I had not ordered.

That wasn't so much the problem, I can use them both.

The problem was the packaging. The outside box was damaged, and about 8 rounds were lost from the shipment. I wouldn't miss the 8 rounds, but it was the idea that the rounds were somewhere the shipper and me that bothered me.

When I called the company to advise them of the extra unordered shipment and lost rounds, their best response was that I could ship the 7.62x39 back to them for a refund. At the cost of shipping ammo, I'll hold on to it. And they'll never see my money again.

My long-winded point is that I'll stick with folks like Midway, CTD, Cabelas and Natchez.

I bought a range bag from Midway last year. Nice bag, but the shoulder strap always slipped because the metal buckles weren't that great. I never complained about it, just took the strap off and use the carry handles.

A few months later I get an email from Larry saying, "Hey, we sold you a bag and some other folks have complained about the shoulder strap slipping. We're sending you a new strap with better buckles, watch for it in your mail box."

THAT is great, proactive, CS.
