Not much activity in the clubhouse for a while, so I'll give it a kick. Here's my newest. Remington 700 XCR Compact Tactical .223. I've actually had the rifle for a while. Just took some time to get the additions together: Badger 20 MOA base and maximized rings; Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 LR with varmint hunter reticle; Blackhawk cheek pad (I need it shooting prone).
Got it all together just last week and to the range yesterday. Used some cheap Winchester ammo to get on paper, then shot a series of three-shot groups with Federal 69 grain Gold Medal Match ammo. Conditions were overcast, hot, humid, and breezy, so I'm VERY pleased with the results ... very promising!
Front is a Remington 721 in 06' and behind is a 760 that my Grandfather used on white tails in Northern West Virginia for the last 40 years also in 06'.
I have several Remington 700 rifles as it an action I grew fond of. The following is on I put together that I really enjoy shooting. I picked up a Remington 725 years ago as part of an estate. The riffle was originally a .222 with a pencil barrel. I had a .224 barrel laying around that was fluted so I used it. The little rifle has a 26" 1:10 twist barrel stainless. The scope was an old Redfield 4 X 12 I had. The mounts are Leupold. When all was said and done I ended up with a mixmaster tack driver in two-tone.
Currently I am not with mine, I'm outta country. Sorry no pics.
I have a 700 ADL in .260 with a Ross Lightweight Thumbhole laminated stock topped by a Burris 4.5x14 and a Model 7 in .243 with an HS Precision sporter stock with a Nikon 2x7.
Love 'em both!
