Romel, RevolvingGarbage, wap41 and Jim... you're all in the club!
Guess I should post my latest BP mousegun here. It's an old Iver & Johnson American Bulldog second model. It is chambered in .32 S&W, but will handle BP .32 Longs just fine. The name "American Bulldog" is rather fitting, as this gun sounds like a dang .38 Special!
The story behind this piece? It was bought back in the late 1800's by a gentleman who used it to defend himself from a criminal. So somebody might have actually been killed with this gun, kind of macabre! So after that was over appearantly the po-po chief at the time took it from the crime scene, but didn't steal it. He later gave this revolver to the seller's great grandfather. His great grandfather carried this handgun as a train conductor, and later gave it to the seller's father. His father kept it on a shelf with a box of bullets in the drawer when the seller what a kid. If he or any of his siblings touched it, they'd get the belt or mum's hickory switch. Now that's good parenting.
Then later on when the seller's dad went home to our eternal father, the seller put it on Armslist so he could buy a new Sig Saur. I bought it for $100 IIRC.
The next owner of the gun would be me. When I got it, it was double action only. So I made a new sear spring. There was a HUGE cylinder gap, so I tightened this revolver up. The cylinder wouldn't rotate everytime you pulled the trigger, so I made a nice shiny new hand for this revolver out of steel and hardened it. I shoot this piece all the time. She's 114 years old and this gun is still being loved and well cared for. And shot!
I got a breaktop that should be here next week too. It's a Thayer Robinson and Cary in .32 S&W.
