Vaarok, you are correct to a point, but Genesee county has to be one of the most anti-gun yet still rural counties I have ever seen.
I lived in Monroe Co. Got my unrestricted permit in under 40 days.
My friend's lived in Genesee county. Took them over 6 months (I think it was 8) and they had target and hunting on the license.
The one and only time I bought ammo in Batavia, the guy wanted our DL, address, phone number, etc.
I think the more accurate statement is that the problem isn't New York state, it is the individual counties since they have almost complete control to rewrite the laws as they see fit (no preemption).
