How many rounds do you shoot yearly? Between all of my guns, 13 of'em....I'm averaging about 200 rounds/week. That's 10,400 rounds/year.:D

Sometimes I go many weeks without shooting at all. But I've got a lot going on, work, golf, car racing, husbandly duties...

But if I'm going to be shooting a tournament I might shoot 300-400 rounds a week for a month to get back into practice.

My friends and I did a rough estimate based on the number of boxes we leave behind per range visit and we believe that each of us put down somewhere around 2000 per person per year. It comes to around 12,000 rounds for our group annually.

Well lets see, I do my reloading in the summer because it's central Florida. I just finished in the last two months, 6500 .40, 4000 9mm, 5000 45acp, 6000 223, 4000 308, 2000 45/70 and that probably will not last me and the wife till next summer. So I voted 12000+.

Wow otrman, putting me to shame, lol. It probably helps that the national forest is only 1.5 miles from here, makes it really easy to go shoot.

I couldn't vote. You had no, under 1000 rounds or "other"
option.Ask a friendly mod to add it. :scrutiny:

My very degraded hearing only allows me to fire off about 500 rounds a year and be on the safe side. And no one in the Florida Keys lives next to a forest, National or otherwise! :D

With the new handgun bug, approx. 3,000-4,000 combined handgun and rifle (mostly Makarov/CZ-82:cool:/Polish P-83:cool:/SKS).

The objective is to avoid any of the large reserve stored for retirement and for the next Unplanned panic. The anticipated panic is late November 2016.
Keeping a focus on the main situation when ammo is consumed.

During my competition years I'd average somewhere around 25,000 rounds per year but I was only local and regional. Now we both shoot easily 150 rounds per [mostly] weekly session ... sometimes more. 12,000+ it is.

I'm in the 1,000-3,000 group. I always joke that I'm a collector before I'm a shooter :D

I do take 2-4 training courses a year though to try to continue improving, and have fun doing it.

In S.C. in June/July/August, 0800 hrs is often 85F and headed for triple digits, and I don't enjoy shooting while wiping sweat, and getting head-achey. In Jan/Feb, 0800 hrs is often below 35F, and usually windy. Not doing that either.
I shoot for pleasure (same as fishing), and I don't brave the elements to get my fix. I just read my back issues of American Rifleman, Guns & Ammo, and Handguns. In the 7 months or so that I go to the range, I usually go twice a month, shooting 250-500 rounds at each visit, depending on caliber. So, probably 3,000 ish. That includes a couple hundred .22s, 50-100 9mm, 50 .45s, 50 .38s. Maybe 5 rounds through the Mausers. ;)

Normandy, your range visits are pretty similair to mine. 50 (9mm), 50 (40 S&W) , 40 (AR-15), 100 (22 LR) and 20 or so out of the Mini-14. I rotate my collection week to week, that way everything gets a workout.

February, March, April and half of May, the Forest roads are packed full of snow, so I can't access my shooting hole. Even my Jeep on 33's, fully locked, can't get down there a lot of times during those month's.

What, no snow shoes or cross country skis? Obviously a lack of dedication to the cause... LOL

Let me work this out....

Air pistol - ~25 rounds/session x 3.5 sessions/week = 87.5

Pistol (usually black powder) - ~35 rounds/session x 2.5 sessions/week = 87.5

Call it about 175 rounds per week. More some weeks, less on others.

Times 52 weeks/year = 9,100/year.

I need to train harder.

150 rounds twice a month at indoor range. Every other month or so we shoot at a farm. My Son and I can go through some ammo on those days. Especially when 22 is available.

I normally try to do a box a month (2 handgun calibers) this year I'm above that with a class I took. With .45acp dropping a bit in price I plan to shoot more, as long as the weather holds out.

Voted 250-500

Nowhere near as much as I'd like. Between budget and time constraints, I had to go somewhere between 500-1000 rounds a year. I shoot a couple of hundred rounds just about every time I go to the range, but I only get to do that every couple of months.
