Ya know, I gotta say at this point, when we start to consider "body armor" so that I can walk 3 blocks home from my job, no matter how much I need that job ... it's time to find another job ... and another place to live!
+1 to mgkdrgn. Guys, I spend a bit of time on other THR Forums , and less on this one but..I am shocked at the "carry a gun", "carry a knife", etc. w/o mention of proper training. With no training, your weapon is probably most likely to be turned against you. Situational awareness and the ability to disappear are best here...and once more I bless my position out in "the boonies"!
If you have a CC license then I suggest getting a Kel-Tec P32 and a DeSantis pocket holster. I WILL disappear in your pocket and no one will ever know. The key to effective (and legal) CC is "conceal". I carry either my
Kel-Tec P3-AT or P32 everywhere and no one knows. That's the correct way to carry.
An ankle-carried weapon in a kitchen would get absolutely filthy. I guess it'd be better than nothing, but I wouldn't want to put any weapon down there with all the crud that ends up on the floor.
Personally, if the carry prohibition was a policy issue rather than a legal one, I'd choose to discreetly pocket carry. Probably want a good pocket holster, though- a lot of bumping into other folks goes on on the line.
