Wow, a lot more folks shooting Winnie and reloads than I'd have thought.

BTW, I voted CCI Blazer w/ aluminum cases. I've shot more of those than anything and only have had one problem. That was with 38s in one revolver. They worked fin in other guns.

.40cal fmj 180gr, winchester.
BTW: Vances(Columbus, OH) has it for 9.99 per box.

I shoot my own reloads, I can shoot almost 200 rounds for the same cost as a single box of commercial 45 ACP.

I haven't had any trouble with Berry's 165 grain FP in 40 S&W, or 200 / 230 grain FP in 45 ACP, loaded and fired about 4000 of them so far.

9mm WWB. I've shot thousands of rounds and can't remember the last problem. I have had a few stovepipes in the past with my CZ-75, but I can't even remember when the last one was.

The WWB .38 Special hasn't been as good though. I usually get one or two rounds that won't fire in every box of 100. Usually they'll fire the second time through, but not always. And this is in two different guns.

I only shoot reloads in my .357 and .44 Magnums. Occasionally, when I haven't had time to reload enough .40 S&W rounds, I'll go to Wal-Mart and buy the Winchester 100 round value pack in 165 gr. FMJ. I have fired several hundred rounds of this Winchester ammo in my 40 with zero malfunctions.

Back in the 80's my father bought about 1000 rounds of 9mm Yellowstone something reloaded practice ammo. A few years later he went to the dark side (or is it the kind of dark side) and bought a .40S&W, which became his primary carry piece to this day (police officer). Last year when I bought my P89 he gave me about 600 rounds and said he can get me more if I like them. My P89 ate them up like a dream. When I go home on leave, I'll give him some $$ so I can get more.

Having used Blazer Br and Al, Federal, WWB, Magtech, S&B, Remington and Wolf by the thousands or tens of thousands I've never had an ammo problem. As luck would have it I have not even had a misfire. The amount of "bad" ammo made by modern factories is such a low low% that even with me firing over 15K/rds of 9mm last year I didn't have a single ammo problem. I would need a huge data base before I would expect to find any real difference between major manufactures.

WWB is what they sell at Wal-Mart so it has the biggest following. I shoot a lot of it and a lot of UMC. They both shoot flawlessly but the UMC seems to shoot better as far as accuracy is concerned, for me anyways.
