What do YOU carry, and exactly how often do you carry it?

I almost ALWAYS have at least the KelTec P-32 on me. (got it in the back pocket right now-Uncle Mike's pocket holster) At other times (maybe 60%) I want the Kimber Ultra CDP .45 in a cross-draw belt holster, the H&K USP45C in a DeSantis belly-band cross-draw, or the Glock 26 in an Uncle Mikes kydex strong side. At these times I generally still have the P-32 on me.

I also don't like carrying full size guns. In fact, the H&K is a bit large for my tastes. I suppose it depends on the situation, though. There are times, especially up in our wilder areas, where my Colt Delta Elite is the only way to go.

90% of the time I carry a Glock 26. For the other 10% it is a Glock 19. You just can't go wrong a gun that goes bang every time you pull the trigger and works right out of the box.

Glock 22, shoulder holster with 1 spare mag. Sometimes in an OWB on the belt. I carry it often enough to arouse the ire of those who object.

Just treated myself to a 4" S&W .500 I might carry :what: if I can get a long enough jacket. (Just to amuse friends and p*ss off a few liberals I am forced to associate with. :D ) Being a large man I might be able to pull it off.

"I have only two options to carry, a five and a half pound stainless (beautiful) .45 1911, OR a smith and wesson 340 pd, which comes into the ring at only 15 oz fully loaded "

Maybe you should put your 1911 on a diet I never seen one weigh that much. Its really not that hard to carry a 1911 all day every day. Did it for years. I no longer live in a high threat area.So I have backed down some.
Now I have 2 main a PPK/S and a Kel Tec in 380. I added a S&W 3913 to carry last week and PPK/S is back to home or BUG duty,.

During the week I pretty much have to stick with "business casual" and on those days I'll be carrying my Kel-Tec P3AT in a pocket holster or, occaisionally, an ankle holster. On weekends and evenings where I can leave a shirttail untucked I'll probably be carrying a Kahr CW9 although sometimes a mood strikes me and the full size 1911 gets to go for a ride.

I've carried for several years now. When i started I carried a Colt Diamontback .38, 4". When I turned 50 a few friends and family gave me a S&W Tactical DAO .45. I carry it all day...right up to bed time. I have it on right now. I've only carried IWB.
Mark.

360pd in Desantis pocket holster, everywhere except work, everyday. If I am going somewhere that I know to be rougher than my usual destinations, like work in the early morning I carry a subcompact XD 40 IWB.

I carry one (oftentimes two) P3ATs with me at all times (that it is legal). They are reliable and remarkably accurate for their purpose (self-defense range of 15 yards or less). I wouldn't hesitate recommending one (or two) to anyone who wants an accurate, reliable, adequate SD caliber, and easily concealable CCW pistol.

J Frame

I have not left the home without A J frame (M38 638, 642) in my pocket for the last 10 years. Except twice when I just forgot to pack it.
I vote with it. Its a libertarian thing. Don't forget to keep the PTA safe.

I teach the concealed carry classes in Ohio. I recomend if only one gun is going to be purchased an airwieght hammerless revolver, generally a Smith, for the wieght and the hammerless feature. Permitting inside clothing ability to fire and comfort of carry. For a small gun I carry a Smith 642 or a Detonics .45 sightless. Large guns a sig 245 or 220 as I am a sig armorer. At time a usp or a les baer thunder ranch. I like .45 for a stopper but a correctly placed .38 will do well.
We had a bad shooting by a CCW holder a couple weeks ago. The grand jury returned a no bill against the license holder for the death of the 14 year old bad guyduring an auto theft.

H&K P2000 .40S&W, no extra mags, just 12+1 165gr JHP. Shot about 1500 rounds through that gun so far, and had exactly 0 failures of any kind. So I guess I don't buy that mag jams... then again, I clean my mags as much as my CCW gun after every range trip. So I'm not worried about feeding problems or anything. No safety on that gun:evil: just pull the trigger and something IS comming out the business end:evil:

Hoping to get Ruger SP101 soon, as well as a NAA or something small like it.

I carried a 1911 Gov't for about 2 years full time, I have since transitioned to the Sig 226 and carry it except when I am sleeping.

Full size guns are a little uncomfortable at times but the trade off in firepower, accuracy and capacity to me are worth it.

I carry in South East Texas year round OWB.

My wife has a Bersa 380, it's a neat little gun but I personally wouldn't rely on it as I have only trained with my fullsize guns.

I carry a P229 in 40 S&W with 2 extra mags in a Haugen Handgun Leather SOB holster, two mags are loaded with 165 grain Golden Sabers and the third mag is loaded with 180 grain FMJ. I also enjoy the accuracy and capacity of the larger weapons and carry all day whether at home or out and about.

I carried a Ruger P90 .45 for a while but like the Sig more now. My wife carries a Springfield XD subcompact in 9mm and it has been completely reliable with quality ammunition.

Glock 27 as often as I wear pants (always). I'm a skinny guy and the Glock hides well. When I first got a CCW I carried a full size 1911 but that got old real quick, sold my G23 and bought a 27, couldn't be happier with it.

My typical load out is:

Kel-Tec P32
Galco Pocket Holster
Front Pocket, Weak Side
Sellier & Bellot FMJ
No Spare Magazines

Smith & Wesson 340PD
Tommy Gunpack
Speer Gold Dot 38+P SB
2 Bianchi Speed Strips

Kabar TDI, Short Blade
Strong Side Belt

The P32 is my always gun, even at home (especially at home). All my P32s (2 for me, 2 for my wife) have the mag release shaved down so that you need to use your fingernail to eject the magazine. I really don't like carrying spare magazines for that gun, prefering instead a NY reload.

The TDI is a recent acquisition, and I REALLY like it. It is really a push knife (or a punching dagger) but shaped just enough like a regular knife to fall in that designation.

a five and a half pound stainless (beautiful) .45 1911
:what: Dang, how heavy are the rounds in that thing?:what: It weighs nearly as much as my RIFLE.:what: Don't think my Contender is that heavy even with a scope on it. Well, maybe you mean it feels like 5.5 lbs after a day IWB. I can relate to that. :D

I have a Kel Tec P11 14 ounces unloaded, pocketable, 1260 fps with a 115 grain Hornady XTP for 410 FPE (I think that's quite enough) and 11 rounds capacity with another two magazines on my belt. I carry it all day, every day in a pocket from the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to bed. I also have a little Taurus M85UL that I carry in lieu of the 9 sometimes and am carrying that today. I feel the 158 grain +P hollow point is plenty and, in fact, has a good street record with the police, so why should I fret it's not enough? A couple of those center mass and I don't think the fight continues, frankly.

I have a Ruger P90 that is pretty light and carries okay IWB in a Summer Special from Sparks. It's a .45ACP and it might get carried 2 or 3 times a year when we go to Houston Christmas shopping or something. I love the gun, shoot it very well. I ain't really worried about the caliber, it's the fact that I'm fast and accurate with it. I still have the Kel Tec in a pocket when I carry that gun, though. And, I also have an NAA mini revolver that goes everywhere I go. I ain't gonna be without a gun, put it that way.

Kimber desert warrior, it is the heaviest handgun I own but also the slimmest pistol in my line up so it makes for good carry, not to mention it's extremely acurate.....I have plans to pick up a RCP for CCW in the near future.

Don't leave home with out it!

BUGs

For me, my always gun is the Kel-Tec P3AT loaded with Cor-Bon 95 Grain JHP bullets.

In the fall / winter however, I carry a Taurus MP 745C with a backup magazine.

I personally feel that one should carry the largest gun they can control. However, I also realize that the 1911 can't be carried everywhere, or might be uncomfortable to carry everywhere. For Summer, the P3AT is with me in a Galco pocket holster. It's light enough I don't even notice the weight.

Thought I'd add, where you live has a lot to do with what you carry. I'd carry my Ruger a lot more IWB if I lived in Houston or some other big city pit hole of crime and corruption. :barf: :barf: :barf: I live in a small town where the threat level isn't like you're going to get robbed every day like living in Houston. I mean, chances are I'll never have to use it, but it's there and easily accessable. Hell, if I lived in Houston, I'd carry an AR15 with full battle pack just to get to work and back. You take your life in your hands just going to sleep up there what with all the home invasions I see on the tube. It's like, you gotta check your back constantly, cover the perps with your front sight as you walk down the street. Screw that!

Also, this is south Texas. I don't wear a coat. Been in a tee shirt working outside today, in fact. Why would I care to have a revolver that shoots from a pocket? Hard to aim it from the front pocket of my jeans, where I always carry the thing. Now, if I lived in Ohio, that might matter to me.

So, where you are going that day or where you live has a lot to do with what your CCW choice is going to be, IMHO. There's no one gun fits all answer to CCW, it's a personal thing.

The great majority of the time a Sig 229 in a Wild Bills No Such Agency. I also carry a Colt Commander fairly often in a Sparks HRII.
