so a country is civilized by not letting its subjects carry guns is what your saying? im a citizen and ill keep mine like i said im not looking for a fight but if i have to i will.be sure to tell the russians,chinese or whoever desides to try to take over your country that your their friend . as for coming over theyre i wouldnt set foot in that country nor would in many of those "civilized" contries you mention!

I am kind of a big guy, i USUALLY carry my taurus 24/7 pro in .45 acp. i would like something a little smaller/lighter, but finances won't allow right now (just had to spend $200.00 on a new toilet thanks to my 3 year old).
 
Mr tbreed, i don´t understad all what you was writing, because i can to write and speak only Finish, Swedish and Germany. I mean Russians e.g. are friends. They keep holidays in Finland, because it is so peacefull country.We can have from there oil, natural gas.....they can have from us many things too. Russian is now very rich contry. It will to be very stong militaty country. Yuo shall to notice it very soon. We no need make war for oil like a country in Iraq. Finland and Sovjet Union (no Russia) have "international match" over 60 years back. Finland had victory 7-120 counting by lost men. Also then civilians didn´t normaly times carry guns. Hope yours boys and girls shall no die in the strange country. Take care for it. We here are ok, don´t be worry abaot us.
Also strangelittleman, sleep well. I carry only 2-3 guns when i am going shooting area. When i hunt 1-2 enough. I think you have no guns at all. :p

Yep K.I.W. You're right I don't have any guns, just my Pez & hip flask of Cutty Sark, but if I did have some guns, I would'nt have used them to help the Nazis like your "peaceful country" did during World War 2.......
 
Littlestrangewoman, it was smaler bad thing when Finland 3000000 people had trouble with over 150000000 people-CCCP. There was no occupation In Finland after this war. Now yuo are in Nato with those "nazies". Do you have some alcohol troubles?
P.S: Finland din´t helpt nazies, natzies was helping Finland e.g. blouwing with Stukas T-35 tanks a way.

KI.W. does not believe citizens should have the right to carry. I disagree. Lets have a civilized discussion over in General Discussion or Legal rather than here.

Its sad that here we are slinging mud and acting like children. I thought THR was populated by grown-ups.
 
Mr Tecumseh, i was not writing right to carry-, i was writing ordinary people no need to carry guns. Ok, i shall to go and start to grow up to morrow.

Most folks will rarely, if ever, need a fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, jumper cables, spare tire, first-aid kit, personal flotation device, or defensive firearm. The catch is that if you ever do need it; you'll need it really, really bad.

The vast majority of people here that carry a gun hope and pray that they will never need it. They recognize though, that there may come a time when that gun could save their life when nothing will.

I must agree, I have been carrying a sidearm for 24 years, and have had to draw only once, no shots fired. I hope I never do, but seeing the criminal life up close every day in prison, I know for a fact what kind of poepl there are in the world, and I like to be able to protect my family and myself. If this is not the case for you, please, enjoy your peaceful and beautiful country. We reserve the right to be armed for defense of self and country.
Finland was known for fine marksmanship, (Winter War, anyone), with thier Mosin Nagants, and were on the German side during WWII. I don't hold that against the people of Finland today, any more than I hold WWI and WWII against the modern German peoples. I do personally despise Nazis, and anyone who thinks like or wishes to be like them.
I will keep carrying my Czech made 9mm CZ PO1 to protect my family and myself.
Oh, on the prison yard, all I carry is pepper spray, a radio, and keys.
By the way, KI.M., the Stukas were shooting Soviet T-34s tanks.

Best way to put it, is "I'd rather be looking at it, then for it." sort of mindset.

If I ever need to use my carry piece or needed to defend myself in a life or death situation, I'd much rather have it than not.

The reason why ordinary people carry is because most of us have jobs that takes us to places where we may need to carry. I know mine did.

That and being a victim of crime isn't an option. More & more people are defending themselves from armed criminals. Difference is the law abiding citizens are going through the proper channels to do this. It's a privledge and a freedom that we choose to utilize.

I carry a Ruger P85 or Bersa .380 usually. If society falls apart, I may be seen also carrying a Mossberg rifle across my back, Remington 870 in a 3 point sling, and a bag full of ammo.

I have an old Sig P225 and a H&K UPSc 9mm. But I think my next two pistols will be a 1911 Fullsize and compact. We will see though. Take it easy and keep it safe.

I was reading information internet and and newspapers from USA.( i can read, but no write in yours language). I am sorry. You have right. You need to carry, but semiautomatics pistols are not enough. Yuo need stingers, assualt rifles and hand granats too.
My sister and her family lives in Florida. They have no guns. They like to fish in Key West. I must go there and start to teach them to shoot. They are very crazy, no guns!!!!(My father was USA citizen. Birth place Telluride Colorado).

my answer is:ARMSCOR 1911 GOVT STANDARD with some modifications already,like the combat hammer,skeletonize trigger.magwells for the easy insertion of magazines.
