This is gonna be the year of the AR

I am waiting on a local dealer to get stripped lowers in, then im buying three of them and will build them as I can afford it.

I'm still trying to decide

I want a milsup for a "project rifle" this year.

Got down to 2: Either a 7.5 Swiss K-31 or a 22LR Romanian Cugir?????

They both would be shooters. The K-31 would be sporterized for my son as his deer/hog rifle. The Cugir would be mine and made into a competiion rifle for one gun silhouette/bench contour barrels.

Which one should it be?

2005's first

Looks like mine is going to be a Finnish M39, either "B" barrel or VKT. Can't decide which, yet.
I've already got nearly 2-thousand rounds of 7.62x54R, so I have to get something that can help use it up.

This is the year I pledge to get a CZ-75 with a Kadet kit. Of course, that will not merely be my first gun of this year but uh...ever.

  • Springfield XD Service Model in 9mm
  • Kimber Custom II Stainless
  • Winchester Model 53

Last but not least, a LMT MRP, probably carbine length, with a 14.5" barrel, and a permanently attached Phantom. And a Colt lower to put it on.

Viper .50 BMG by Bluegrass Armory now that "60 Wasted Minutes" has declared this class of firearm to be evil.

I was hoping to get a garand for myself and a Kimber in 9mm for my wife. However after watching 60 Minutes the other night I think I might need to get a Barett in .50cal.

I promised myself that I would not buy any more weapons until I have purchased my reloading setup. It's killing me. :D So I am saving up to get a Dillon 550B and associated parts and pieces. I need the reloader because I have a project to rebuild an old Savage 110 in 270 cal into a 6.5/06. And I have to be able to reload to have any ammo.

oh the pain, the pain . . .

It's between 2 different guns. Either a Benelli Nova turkey gun or an AR15 carbine style or both. A SigPro 9mm would be nice too.

Good year

I had a good end of year and was able to get some goodies for first time in a while. I've been lucky enough to get a couple more:
No 4 Mk 1 Enfield and a K-31.

(Last year ended with a CETME, AK-47/WASR, and an AR-15)

Next on the list is a FAL. (saving my lunch money somethin' fierce!)

A pre-B model CZ-75 9mm, with adjustable Millett sights and factory wood grips. Why so precise? 'Cause the FFL and USPS MO are both in the mail, that's why! I'm righting a wrong from my youth, I never shoulda sold the first one I acquired back in the late 80's. Next one will be a T/C Encore or G-2.

Not exactly planned......

My wife and I were talking about this and I said that I really have all the guns that I plan to want. So I said it will probably be some impulse purchase like a Langdon SIG P220 or a CZ452 but only if I find one set up the way I want it already scoped, trigger job etc.

Three hours later we walk into my psychic gunshop and Bam there it is. I feel so guilty now. See thread here. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=120814

A Marlin 1895 in 45-70 was ordered and paid for the last week of December, 2004. I took delivery the first week of January, 2005. It was simultaneously the last purchase of 2004 and the first of 2005!

Unless someone can talk me out of it for quality reasons, my first firearm purchase of '05 and first firearm purchase ever will probably be a CIA SAM 1911 .45...anyone think it's a waste of money? I found one for a really low price.

If I don't buy that, I'll probably buy a Glock (can't decide which model yet) at the gun show coming up week after next.
