What is your primary defensive firearm?
Even in my home, a handgun is the only workable option.People can debate the effectiveness of a pistol over a long gun, but for daily carry a pistol is the only workable option for most people.
For the most part a little 3" 45 ACP works for me with the single magazine of 7 + 1. This little Kimber Ultra CDP II has proven reliable for my use. I also am not at all adverse to using a 2" S&W Model 10 38 Special. I am comfortable with either gun. What is your primary defensive firearm?
I'm guessing this question wasn't targeted at CCW holders since most of the answers in the poll are long guns?
Honestly, my answer is more circumstantial and environmental than anything else:
When I'm carrying at work it's a Glock 17 on my hip, and a rifle in the trunk. When I'm carrying off-duty it's a Glock 26 on the hip, worn concealed. When I'm at home it's going to be the Glock 26 on my nightstand, or the Benelli M4 or AR-15 in the closet.
Even in my home, a handgun is the only workable option.
I might as well use a bamboo cavalry lance as any non-NFA long gun in MY home. There just isn't the room to maneuver a long gun.
I too surmise that since long guns are mentioned that this isn't directed at EDC guns.
For HD my primary is a Canik TP9SA.
