Smith & Wesson Model 10. It had been worked over by my uncle who was a LEO Armourer. The trigger was like running your finger through water and accuracy was amazing. Started using it to hunt rabbits and squirrels here in Texas when I was 12 years old. My dad never approved of me using a handgun to hunt with until he saw how effective it was and how proficient I was with it. I have hunted with handguns most of my life.

1976

My first handgun is a Ruger Security Six "Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty" for my 18th birthday, given to me by my girlfriend. I still have the pistol and the girl, my wife. The Ruger is loaded and is her primary HD pistol.

Had been shooting dad's M1911s since the age of 14. So the day after my 21st birthday I bought a Colt M1911 Gov't Model 80 Series at an Oshman's Sporting Goods in Midland, Texas. Turned it in 2 years later toward the purchase of a .44 Magnum Mark VII Desert Eagle . . . stupid, stupid, stupid!

The first handgun was a Ruger standard .22 semi auto. Gift from my Dad.
The first gun I bought was a Colt Diamondback .38, 4".
They both go to the range every trip.
Mark.

I was 26 and bought a Ruger KP93D 9mm, still have it and shoot it when I can. I now enjoy revolvers more, but the 93 will be with me forever.

My first handgun.

My first handgun. Was a Bersa .380. I bought (it's in mom's name) on my 17 B-Day its a good gun and tack driver for sure this all so my first firearm.
My first shoot was in the 8 ring on a 6X6 bull's eye at 19-23"Ft mark.

My first hand gun was a Hi-Standard HD Military .22 automatic I bought in Shabbona Illinois. I traded it years later for a LLama 9mm jamomatic. The LLama was accurate but picky about ammo and I wish I kept the Hi-Standard. The LLama is also gone now.

Davis .32auto which my father n law sold to me for $50. it was a POS although I wished I would've kept it. Sold it to my bro with the me being the first chance to buy it back. The first gun I actually bought myself was a Ruger P90 which fits me perfectly and I consider my actual first purchase, since I never saw the 'transaction' go through with my father n law. happened between him and my wife. For all I know, he gave that to me like he gave me my shotgun. :D

Voted revolver. That (Taurus Model 66) was the first one I actually bought for myself.

First aquired was a 2 shot derringer, which doesn't fit in either category.

Well the very first was a black powder 44 and it had to go back to the dealer because the state I lived in at the time decided that unless you had got yours 4 years earlier or have a pistol permit for it. So I lost that one but did the paper work thing and got everything done and got me a S&W k38 which I still have after 35 years and will until I die it is just fun to shoot and I like old stuff. Kind of like me a few years on the body but I still am here and enjoying life as much as I can.
I like to shoot black powder pistols and have a few, takes me a while to reload but I have them to use not protect me with. If I had to though bet my .457 loaded to 44 mag levels would really make a baddie wish he/she hadn't pushed me so hard.

My first handgun was this Ruger MKII, I bought it new back about 1992, It's my favorite gun and always will be, I'll never get rid of it. And since a post is worthless without a pic, here it is with a 15yd. target.
