40+ and holding

I am 40 + and I carry A Colt 1911 officers lightweight 45 acp with A Bond Arms snake slayer derringer in 45 colt/410 for backup

I'm 29 and chose the 1911/HP style firearm. I actually carry ComBloc milsurps exclusively, but when given the choice between getting a Springfield XD and a 1911, I chose the 1911. Not that I don't respect the XD, I just prefer cold steel and the heft and balance of all-metal guns. There's just something reassuring about that.

I'm 21. I carry both "Combat-Tupperware" and wheelguns. I'm hoping to add another revolver (Either a .357 magnum or a .44magnum) and a 1911 to my list of carry guns in the near future.

41 and a sig classic for work in 9mm back up to a m-4.
Personal a 229 in 357sig or a 220 in 45 when ammo available . I can find 357sig easier in my area. When shoulders acting up or wrists a glock 23 in 40 5 mags 155 hst or blackhills 155 or a commander in 45 acp 9 wilson mags of copper hp's if not carrying heavy a 696 with corbon's

25 usually a ruger double action such as the gp100, speed series, and when I get back home an sp101. I do occasionally carry a polymer pistol but that's when situation dictates.

I very recently came across a model 442 S&W. I can carry it while wearing any clothes I own. I have five reliable .38 shots, plus the fun of carrying a pistol. My main other carry pistol, for any time I have had any slight reason to be concerned is a sigp229, chambered in .40. I am new to this, is there an easy way for me to return to old threads and see people responses to anything I ever say?

Dont know how to vote, Im 26 and carry either a polymer framed semi, an LCR, or a 1911. Depends on the attire for the day.

I guess i mostly care a small polymer.

I'm 28 for another few weeks, and when I leave my home I take my full size Hk 45 with me. It's a little large but conceals well in a custom leather holster. If for some reason I can't dress around the full size 45 which I'm very dedicated to, than I take the hk45c in a my vm2 using the tuck feature. Which once again due to the slim grip tucks very well.

I love my...

...Kimber Ultra Carry. Great carry piece.

But my heart remains with a wheel gun.

My favorite is a Model 65-5, 3", RB, with Uncle Mike's combat grips; loaded with Rem. 158gr LSWCHP (the FBI standard load).

I also have a couple of other revolvers which rotate in and out of the carry -
  • S&W Model 325NG - .45ACP. Lightweight, easy to carry.
  • S&W Model 696 - .44 S&W Special, 3", RB, Uncle Mike's Combats; 5 rounds of Winchester 185gr STHP, and 2 extra speedloaders.
  • S&W Model 49 - Pocket/jacket carry, 5 rounds Winchester 125gr JHP +P.

IMHO you have made a good choice on the 442.. In 50 years that revolver will still be reliable,,can't say that about the magazines in my 1911's, BHP's, Sigs, Glocks and Ruger's ...that 65-3" is a real Gem. to carry..had one but traded it for a 2 1/2" model 19 with adjustable sights..wish i had kept the 3"...the 2 1/2' sights hang up on clothes when removing from the front or rear jeans pocket which i prefer...also all these auto's tend to stay in the gunsafe when i 'am out and about outside my home (doing yard work, vehicle maintenance and hunting)..i have displaced many a varmit and snake with my dependale revolver..

I fit in two categories.

I'm ancient (67) and a Commander size 1911 is my primary. However, a little polymer is in my hip pocket even when the primary has to be set aside.

29 since july, and no laughing guys a 1911 LLama minimax modified for carry, but a glock 357 sig for hd and travel.

28. Depending on the season, weather and my activity I carry either a Colt LW Commander, or an XDm40.

Us Old Guys and Our Carry Guns

My First Carry Choice is a 3 Inch Sheriff's Model in 45 Long Colt
If the situation calls for something smaller a K Frame 357 2Inch gets the Job done
