Where's "Both"?

Mostly an auto. Why? Because I'm familiar with it and like having 6+1 or 12+1 in 9x19mm. Best balance of controllability to firepower, etc. Plus the cylinder on the revo can tend to print more.

So far it doesn't matter what age group it's 2 to 1 for the auto's.
I carry a revolver, when I get my LCP we will see if that changes.I will carry both till I trust the LCP with my life

55. And both.

I was wondering if the OP was thinking us old guys all carried revolvers?

Remember 1911 been around a long time!

Mostly revolver, sometimes an auto. In very recent times though, both actually. I just got an LCP a month ago and I've been using it to back up my Ruger SP101.

Edit to add:
And I just turned 24 in June.

Daily carry is a S&W 442/642. I also have a Glock 26 & Kimber Ultra if i want to carry a pistol

Mid 20s, carry both. Medium / Large Autos or Wheelguns when dress allows. 642 pocket carry when I can't carry bigger, P3AT pocket or elsewhere in jeans or other clothing with small or no pockets that won't let me carry the 642 without printing.

I was thinking a small 9 but most are unreliable,KAHR,Kel Tec ect.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

50+, and carry a (and practice with) Kahr PM9 very close to year-round. FWIW, I used to carry a j-frame...

And I have been known to carry a 4" K or L frame, but only occasionally.

Auto (G21SF .45ACP)because I shoot it faster and better (in rapidfire at least). I love revolvers but for carry I'll stick to a semiauto unless I'm in the woods and want a .41 Mag or bigger.

I'm 33.

21 (till Saturday) and auto, because my revolvers are not very conducive to CC. I've got a pair of fullsize .357s, and my autos with one exception are much more comfortable and lighter weight to carry, plus they hold more rounds, I shoot them more, and I just like carrying them better. None of them have any reliability issues, and the only one I would call less than ultra reliable is the CZ 97B, which I don't carry anyway for weight, bulk, and lack of an appropriate holster.

I'm 52 and NEVER carry a revolver. Maybe because the only one I own is a Redhawk. No, I prefer autos and always have. I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II in .45 ACP. My favorite caliber and favorite platform. The Ultra CDP is light, small, powerful, and amazingly accurate. I definitely hit what I aim at. I do carry others at times and always have a P32 in my pocket, but all my carries are autos.

revolvers are tanks that go bang... but i pick autos because i find them to be just as reliable (i shoot all of them often), maintain them regularly, they print less because they're slimmer, and having higher capacity than a 6 shot. of the guns i have that i can carry, i could have a rock solid reliable 19+1 riding strong side in cooler weather. however, i am thinking of a taurus judge with .410 shells in a fabricated mount under the dash in the car.

39 and carry both , depends on the situation and time of year which one.... I carry a full size or compact auto in colder weather. In warmer weather a S&W snub or a 32 auto.
They both have their pluses....auto has more capacity. Revolver is SUPER reliable...

52.

Hey There;
52 years old. I carry an Ultra carry in .45acp.
I have fire over 100,000 rounds from 1911s in competition. Not time to switch to a wheel gun now.

48 y/o. Revolvers as primary. Either a Colt Peacekeeper, or soon adding a 3" S&W 65-6 to the stable. I do have a CZ82, but it's a backup/car type gun as it's not reliable for me.

Glock 19 IWB. Disappears under the right shirt, and 15+1 should get the job done. I carry a G23 for work, so the G19 is a natural pick because they are identical except for caliber and capacity. I like the 9mm better than 40 S&W, it is cheaper to shoot:)

I'm 40 and have always preferred revolvers (except a model 70 1911 I had to sell to pay for books in college). I carry a 340pd almost daily.

My father, nearly 70 has switched to a Glock 23 for his ccw. With arthritis setting in, he shoots the semi-auto better than he does his .357 revolver. He's a good shot with either.

I chose an auto because it chose me. P229 in the cold and P3AT in the warm.... I've held and fired a 642CT with a trigger job done, and I think it would be a fantastic year-round carry, I just don't own one.

(Just) over 35, and I carry both, but lean towards revolvers.

I can still tie my own shoes as well, thankyouverymuch.

I'd really say it all depends on having the right belt and holster. A Glock in a nylon holster on a regular dress belt will feel heavier than your GP-100 in a good holster on a good belt.

If it's a pocket gun, it's always a revolver for me. I just don't trust autos in that size range, especially when exposed to pocket lint, sweat and the like.

For primary carry, it's usually whatever gun I've been shooting recently.

Ok for everyday carry full size its either my FNP-9 or my S&W model 10-4.
If its discrete carry its my Ruger LCP .380
If it is just so I have one(as I am never without one now) NAA mini in .22WSM.

I was thinking a small 9 but most are unreliable,KAHR,Kel Tec ect.

To the original poster... Not sure where you got this information from, but it is far from the truth. I have 3 carry guns, Glock 26 & Sig P239 both 9mm, and a Kel-Tec P32... not one of these guns has ever had a failure of any kind with any ammo. Yeah, it is true about the Kahr's on occasion, but there are many good options out there.

I prefer an auto for carry because they are more flat, hold more rounds, and are easier to shoot than a revolver. IMO, revolvers are best suited for big-bore magnum rounds for use in the woods. As for urban SD/HD, I am more comfortable with an auto.
