Nice!

Looks like something out of Star Wars!
How is the trigger, and does the stock up front allow the attachment of a suppressor?

The trigger is... not great, but it still goes bang every time. You get used to that little bit of mush after a while.

The stock came with two end caps, which sit around the muzzle. The larger one is for bull barrels - unless you have an aftermarket barrel that's a bit longer than the stock one, I think suppressors are probably a no-go.

Bet im the only one who says this.....Remington 597, I sold it to a friend a few years ago, but that has been my favorite .22 ever. Mine was smooth, accurate, reliable and had a stock that actually fit me. Only down side was the 7lb trigger, but it did break like glass. I keep saying ill buy another but i havent yet......

My Little Annie 1441/42 .22LR DSC00075.JPG

Bought her new in 1975 right across the river from where she was born.

Refinished the stock a couple of years back. My son used her for his BSA merit badge with the issue irons. Put that cheap Bushnell and mounts on her in 1976 once I got stateside.

Marlin 780 circa 1983. My first firearm. Runner up is a Remington 510.

Oh, neat! My first rifle, and arguably favorite 22LR is my Marlin 780 that my dad gave me when I was 10.

It was my job to patrol for, and eradicate the chipmunks that were invading when my dad was building our house. I have no idea how many thousands of rounds have flown down that pipe.

My runner up was my dads first 22; a 1909 model12 Remington. It doesn't see a lot of daylight anymore, but has a wonderful feel about it and still shoots pretty good, considering the horrendous condition of the bore.

Anymore though, if I have need of a 22 rifle, it's the ol' handy dandy 10-22. Hard to beat the ease and speed of that thing.

I have many second favorites. One is a Remington bolt action with a tubular magazine (forget the model number). It has a rear locking bolt (similar to the 788). I once shot a 1" 5-shot group at 100 yards with non-match ammo with it (probably a fluke, but still...). I killed a lot of jackrabbits and harvested a bunch of ringtails with the rifle. I need to get it out and shoot it some more.

What's Your Favorite 22 Rifle?
Really? Asking a person with a weakness for which 22 rifle is his favorite. Today is Sunday and Mothers Day so it would be my Remington 510P My very first rifle, November 1958. Tomorrow it might be any of a dozen or so others I have. Looking for a Winchester 52 but if another I like comes along at a good price I'll buy it.

Could have been a Remington 512, I like those. :)
Really I can't say any one is a favorite as I just really like all of my older (and a few new) 22 rifles. All fun to shoot and accurate little rifles.

I suppose my favorite is my first. Winchester Model 60. But, a very, very close second or maybe even a tie is my Marlin 39 Centennial. Something about an octagonal barrel that I have always loved.

my personal favorite is my henry hoo1 in 22lr with the raised see thru mounts with Williams firesights and optics is a fixed 4x32 scope so with the Winchester m-22 ammo this gun is super accurate!! ;)

IMG_1659.JPG Can't decide which is my favorite, as I like my .22's..... Sort of changes a few times a year. The current favorite is the CZ 455 Varmint Thumbhole Fluted that I picked up this past January. Shown here in May with the Vortex 2-7x rimfire scope in Warne rings and its new sling that was just picked up last week . Haven't discovered what it prefers in ammo yet because it seems to love everything I've put in it so far. Looks like this ones gonna be a "keeper" and now I'm even considering one of those CZ 455 Full Stock models too. I decided that I still don't have "too many" .22's yet.

For me, it's usually the most recently purchased rifle.

For instance I fell in absolute love with a Polish WZ-48 single-shot trainer,,,
I ran three 550 round bulk packs through her in the course of 3 months,,,
But I eventually went back to my old stand-by rifle.

Same thing when I purchased a Mauser es-340b single-shot sporting rifle,,,
It made me smile just to pick it up and shoulder it.

Again the same thing when I purchased a CZ-512,,,
It is just so much of a pleasure to shoot It was my favorite for a few months.

But I always go back to one of the simplest rifles ever created,,,
Henry Acu-Bolt single-shot.

henry_acubolt1.jpg

There's just something inherently satisfying about this rifle,,,
It shoulders well and is way more accurate than I am.

I think I just like the ritual of chambering a round then pulling the cocking knob,,,
But I wouldn't like it if it wasn't as easy to hit with than any rifle I've ever fired.

Too bad that Henry discontinued the adult model,,,
They do still market the Mini-Bolt youth rifle,,,
I bought one to have a gun kids can use.

It's not my "best" rifle,,,
But it dang sure is my favorite.

1920's vintage Winchester model 57 (4 digit SN) that still shoots 4" groups at 100 yards with cheap ammo and open sights. The Lyman quick adjust peep sight on that thing is just sick.

For purely sentimental reasons, my favorite is the first firearm I ever got, a single shot Remington Model 514. It was a gift on my 14th birthday in 1958. It still puts a smile on my face every time I shoot it.

Mine would be the first rifle I ever purchased myself with my own savings. Close to 40 years ago I spent about everything I had at the time to buy an Anschutz 1413 Super Match that I used for shooting 4 position as a junior. I still shoot it today and it remains the most used rifle in my collection. By far the best money I've ever spent on a rifle.
