The top on is my favorite, a S&W 65-5 round butt, with a 4 " Mod 64 pencil barrel, moonclipped, Target trigger and hammer and shoots like a house afire.
The bottom is a close second, S&W 13-4 3" HB.

Definitely my 5 screw S&W K22 Masterpiece. Saved my quarters, nickles and dimes for 2 years to buy it 1948. 60 bucks at that time, brand new.

Dan Wesson Model 15 in 357 magnum. 4, 6, and 8 inch barrels. I mostly use the 4", which I recently bought. I like the trigger pull both D/A and S/A. It also stays accurate as the gun heats up thanks to the tension barrel. I might pony up for a 445 some day.

The next one I buy - at least for a few days. Then, I'll revert back to my 625JM for a bit - then my h-l 5" 686+ - then my 625MG in .45 Colt. I am fickle.

PS Frighteningly, I considered mentioning my recent .32 H&RM Ruger SS BHG - and even my 1895 Nagant(s). They are fun - but such a dimunitive caliber would only draw sullen stares from most roundgun-nuts.

My 4" Stainless Python. I consider myself VERY lucky to own this one. Most definitly my favorite shooter, and carries nicely too.

Since this necrotic thread first fizzled, I have changed my attitude re shooting considerably. Sure, the 629's, 625MG's (.45 Colt) - and 696 - still make range trips - my basement ammo factory has kept up with my needs. But - I have to be a realist - commonly available ammo - like .45 ACP and .38/.357M - has to eventually be considered. I guess my choice would be either that 625JM I mentioned - or the more common cf range-bag occupant since I bought it 5/08 - a 627 Pro (I told you I was fickle!).

Of course, as my CTS & arthritis worsen - and ammo components get more dear - .22 rimfire gets more attractive - and this guy - new almost two years ago - becomes my favorite. May have to pop Zombies more than once, of course - but you can buy three bricks of .22's for what a pair of boxes of cheap .38 reloads run. Plus, the 617 is just fun!!

Yeah, it'd probably be my last revolver to leave! Did I mention that it is just fun to shoot??

My Colt Trooper Mk III is the best revolver in my collection for just overall use and performance. Its been thru their custom shop for trigger work.

My Ruger Old Model 3 screw Blackhawk 4 5/8" bbl with real ivory grips in 45 LC. We have grown old together.

My Ruger Gp100 is my favorite. In addition to being very accurate for me it's the one gun I own that my wife likes to shoot. Need less to say it's my night stand gun.

My favorite DA revolver would have to be my S&W Model 686 4"; slickest DA, right out of the box, that I have ever owned.

I'm always amazed at the accuracy, durability, and simple elegance and balance of the cut down S&W 2nd Model Hand Ejector (.455 converted to .45 Colt). It shoots as well as any new gun, and is about 95 years old. The shortened, 4" barrel makes it perfect, and I modeled it after the Indiana Jone's gun from the first movie.

[/IMG] However, the durability, simplicity, accuracy and such from this Ruger Security Six (four shots cutting each other at 25 yards) makes me think it will outlive the S&W, even if I use magnum loads all the time. Tough call......
