most prized
My most prized handgun was my very first gunshop purchase, had it paid-for before my license arrived in the mail, and I picked it up that very day!
it's a ltd edition S&W 1911, 1 of 231, in polished stainless. The grips seen in the photo are the grips it came with. It's also my EDC, most trusted semi-auto. Almost to a 3000 round count (just a couple boxes less than that so far) with no issues, bore looks great after all that too. It's my 'baby,' I've bought many other handguns that i truly love since then, but it's still my absolute favorite
Funny thing was I was hoping for a 1911 that looked like that, and I wanted a S&W, but I didn't think there would ever be a S&W with that finish, no forward serrations, and a traditional guide-rod (not full-length), I was so delighted to find it, it was love at first sight
(seen on the left here, some of my record collection is reflected on the slide
)
i'd also like to hear more about that 1911 with the chopped trigger-guard! Seen a few photos of really old ones that are in museums, but that's the first I've seen by anyone who is likely to actually put live ammo in it!
