What's YOUR most prized handgun?

Crappy pic, great gun. The Freedom Arms model 97 .357 is my most prized, although my CZ 75/Kadet 9mm/.22lr may be my favorite.

Interesting. The "most prized" isn't the go to gun a lot of the time. Funny how we value things.

May not be the most expensive, but I think I speak for us all when I say: it would be the last they pry "from my cold dead hands" when it comes to certain guns we own. God I love this country!!!

H&R 949 .22lr revolver. It was the first gun my father bought with his own $. Gave it to me a couple of years ago

most used and would be the most missed...from 1998 my Kimber Stainless Custom Gold Match. my wifes would be from 1907, her Colt 32 Long Colt Target D.A. 6" in 99%

A Colt 1903 M in .32acp. It was my dad's and it became mine when he passed away. It will be with me for safe keeping until it go,s to my son or grandson. It has become part of my family history now.

Probably this one. It's my Smith & Wesson Performance Center 627 8-shot .357 Magnum. This has been my everyday carry gun for a bit over a year now.

I'm guessing that 5 shot .44 spl. M19 is a post-factory convert. I tried to buy a Ruger Speed Six done in .41 spl. (.41 mag. shortened to spl. length). It was converted by Theo Paris and I wanted it BADLY. I'll bet Hamilton Bowen could whip one up. Just close your eyes & wish, then open your wallet & wait. Okay DM~, you've got our attention. We're all ears! Brian, can a moderator MAKE someone participate? 'Cause I KNOW (for sure) you can shut 'em up!

A well broken in Gen3 Glock 17 9mm with over 50,000 rounds through it. Lots of really nice guns in this thread, but virtually 100% reliability (I had a magazine base come off during an IDPA Classifier in 2005, thats it) in any situation is the most prized thing for me.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

No photos but it's a toss up between the Ruger flattop 357 Blackhawk with a 3 digit serial number (first year of manufacture) and the Ruger stainless 357 Redhawk with 7.5 inch barrel. Both would be very difficult to replace and are superbly accurate. The edge probably goes to the Blackhawk.

I would have to go with these....lots of history behind them.
1917 s&w and a 37c 1911
Chromerunner - Is there a handicapped issue behind those trigger guards?

Now that I've seen one - after all these years - I'm surprised that that is the first 1911 which I've seen to have a guard removed like yours... Interesting - tell us the story.

most prized

My most prized handgun was my very first gunshop purchase, had it paid-for before my license arrived in the mail, and I picked it up that very day!

it's a ltd edition S&W 1911, 1 of 231, in polished stainless. The grips seen in the photo are the grips it came with. It's also my EDC, most trusted semi-auto. Almost to a 3000 round count (just a couple boxes less than that so far) with no issues, bore looks great after all that too. It's my 'baby,' I've bought many other handguns that i truly love since then, but it's still my absolute favorite :) Funny thing was I was hoping for a 1911 that looked like that, and I wanted a S&W, but I didn't think there would ever be a S&W with that finish, no forward serrations, and a traditional guide-rod (not full-length), I was so delighted to find it, it was love at first sight :)

(seen on the left here, some of my record collection is reflected on the slide :) )

i'd also like to hear more about that 1911 with the chopped trigger-guard! Seen a few photos of really old ones that are in museums, but that's the first I've seen by anyone who is likely to actually put live ammo in it!

Chromerunner: I too am interested about the missing trigger gaurds. I'll bet you don't holster that colt cocked and locked :what:

Some incredible firearms in this thread. Mine would have to be this 1960 S&W K32 Masterpiece Model 16 no dash.
