What's YOUR most prized handgun?

I'm an old west type of person, and my two prizes are a 1st model 1860 Army Richards Conversion. The other would be my 3rd model Merwin, Hurbert & Co. pocket army in .44 WCF. LM

I'd have to pick a few:

S&W 1976 28-2

And the FA Premier in .44 mag

And the Nighthawk

Left a lot behind though.

My most prized handgun: is the first handgun I ever fired. My Grandfather's Ruger in .44 rem mag with a color case hardened finish on it. Yeah, didn't start with a .22, or a 9mm, not even a .45: 240 grain full power .44 mag. First handgun I ever fired: I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever done.

I would have pictures but I don't have it. The reason I don't have it - is because i can't manage to convince Gramps to sell the damned thing to me: because it's his most prized handgun too! :banghead:

I don't even know what model necessarily because it's not a flat top blackhawk style, it's got the vaquero style hammer, grip and built into the frame rear sight with a vaquero style blade front sight. Yet it has a 7.5 inch barrel, in .44 mag and it's color case hardened.

As far as i know: the Vaquero's not, nor has it been in, .44. Nor have they been offered with color case hardening - but then again I'm not an aficionado enough on ruger single actions to say what their previous options were in times gone by.

I do know the difference between blackhawks, super blackhawks, redhawks, super reds, etc. Still: fantastic gun, rusts if you look at it wrong but that happens with a lot of color case hardened guns.

All I own now are Glocks. I love them but I don't really prize them. They are great guns and I have no sentimental value associated with them. Sorry but I don't have any pics to post.

It would be hard to pass up some of my older revolvers, but this is the gun that I would choose, the SIG 229 I bought new in 1996. A great shooting pistol with great ergonomics for me.

Probably my first, a model 27 Smith with an 8 3/8 barrel. Bought it new in the nice wood box back in '77 (at Sears of all places). Boy does it shoot great. Wish I could still get them at that price.

My "most prized" handguns are in my safe.

If my house is on fire, my priorities are the wife and the dogs.
With luck, I will have the presence of mind to grab the handgun on the nightstand...which will be the one I carried that day, which will (90+% of the time) be a 1911.
Anything beyond that, I have a (relatively) fireproof safe and (more to the point) insurance.

Colt Lightweight Commander I got as a graduation present from college. Its not WORTH the most, but it's the most valued to ME.

The ONE gun I'll save is the CCW that's on me, or locked in the car safe, 98% of the time. Past that, any of mine aren't all that valuable. I'd start chucking Dad's collection out the windows. The FD would either have the fire out, or drag me out at that point.

By far the most impressive handgun I have had the pleasure to shoot. Glad I own one.

Wow! There's certainly some beauties in here!!

Most PRIZED is probably the one that taught me that gun shops don't always know VALUE when pricing...Dan Wesson 5" fixed barrel .44.

Balanced only like some Colt revolvers I've handled. Shoots mags and specials like it's just another .22 plinker. Insane accuracy. Why only $275? Why ask why? :D
