When do you draw?

Speaking of prison, there's a guy in my block serving 7 years for manslaughter. An estranged boyfriend of one of the females in the house showed up one night. He banged on the door, then on the windows. He was told repeatedly to leave. The cops were called. Before the cops got there, the estranged party broke a window and crawled into the house. The perp was shot dead with a hunting rifle. The shooter is now in a maximum security prison.

But he is not dead.

Personal experience mugged twice. Once beaten with a bat by 15 YO boys. Philadelphia slums.

Numerous friends mugged and beaten. (6 of them) Got to talk to the cops a lot about it and the common Modus opperandi used. Philly center city.

I only lived there for 2 years. Never again.


That is all the data I need to know that bad stuff happens fast. Especially if they get close enough.

If two punks are making demands, it probably is not going to have a nice ending for you.

When do I draw? On midsummer evenings atop a local (small) mountain, surveying the valley which contains my town. Charcoal works for city streetscapes and for tree studies, but for a good old fashioned country draw I prefer colored pencil.
