You really need two guns. I have a Kahr E9 and am looking at CW9 vs PM9 (now CM9) for lighter carry, but none are what I pick for "range fun."
P99C or PPS.
VA Herder
I've had pretty much the same experiance. A few of my "experiments"....Bersa .380 Thunder Del., Taurus 24/7 PT Pro Compact 9mm, Kahr CW .40, to name just a few. (all traded or sold), Kimber BP Pro Ten II (great gun but a bit much for CCW...duh. I just wanted it! lol). Glock G 23 (still working on accuracy), and finally the G 26. If I had bought the G 26 in the first place I would have saved myself a lot of frustration and cash. Reliable, surprisingly accurate, and easy to shoot and re aquire. imo...everyone should at least try it. Although I do not like it without the extended mag.Glock 26 all day long. I've bought and tried 8-10 different sub-compacts in almost every caliber imaginable. I always go back to my Glock 26.
Might have to buy one that is on my list and one that you kind people have suggested. That would be a real shame lol
Walther has the best mag release out there.
I would pick the Kahr, Ruger, then the Glock.
Kahrs have nice triggers and are simple guns. Rugers are solid, but typically have long gritty trigger pulls if my LCP is any indicator. And, I'm not a fan of Glock grip angles.

Glock 19, hands down. Easy to shoot, easy to carry, LOTS of reserve ammuntion supply. What's not to love?
