Which semi-auto pistol would you bet your life on out the box?

I've got to say Glocks, if only because Glock seems to understand that you should ship a gun ready to rock and roll, not covered in crap that needs to be removed before the gun is fired. You field strip a NIB glock, it's perfectly clean inside, with grease on the right points. Do that to most other guns, and they're full of crap. Even much more expensive guns.

Of the semi autos I've had, the two that *never* had a malf over the course of thousands of rounds are my old Ruger P95 and my current Springfield XD45.

The 1911A1 Micro Compact I had for a while gave me a few failures to feed, but working the mags a bit took care of that.

Bet your life on a CZ..

My first thought on this matter was my "Well Used" Colt 1911 .45acp. Then again, the most reliable semi-auto-NEW-out of the box, for me, has been the CZ's.
First, a CZ-P0-1=Bought new, Pre-Obama for $399, with all the accessories, ran 6-700 rounds through it without ONE FTF or FTE! I had 2-3 dead primers on some WWII 9's that I ran, but that was a ammo problem-not gun defect. BTW, traded this P-01 to a Member of this Forum for a Kimber .45acp. in like condition=last I heard, we are both happy, with the trade.;)
This left me "9MM Less", with 6-7K 9MM brass+bullets to match, so my next 9MM was a CZ-75B stainless. So far-4-500 rounds=not ONE hick-up.
To me the CZ's just go everytime...:uhoh:

beretta 92, cz 75 sp-01 phantom, beretta px4 storm: own all 3 and all were 100% out of the box while other ones I have owned had hiccups in the first 250-500 rounds

My XD's.. any one of them, wifes sub 9mm, my 45 or my compact 9mm, I have over 6k rounds thru my compact 9mm, only glitches I had were with my hand loads, and those were far and few between.
I also shot about 1500 rounds without cleaning.... still had no problems

But for piece of mind my S&W .38spc always goes boom, I carry 2 at a time :D
Sometimes I carry my Kahr CW40 too, If I have my jacket on

Any of my three autoloaders (H & K USP .45, CZ 75, Glock 19 3rd gen) will do for me. But because I 've been carrying my USP .45 for ten years now, the lot might fall on it.

I have had some FN Hi Powers in 9mm and a Browning Practical 9mm that have never failed. I just got an 4 in. Xd in 9mm and it is off to a good start.
Best,
Rob

Sig Sauer P-220. I carried two of them during my 20 year Law-Dawg career and neither ever had to have anything done to them.
The Military contract Beretta M-9s works great when new. Until the locking block wings break a year or two later.

Biased here Beretta 96 because it is my only pistol. Really though the no FTF/FTE makes it very attractive to me for picking up. I shoot it naturally better than any other gun I've picked up so I'd def. bet my life on it.
