Your top 5 carry guns!

I don't know that I've carried 5 different firearms in my life...

My current stack of the 5 best carry pieces is...

1) Kahr CW9 #1
2) Kahr CW9 #2
3) Kahr CW9 #3
4) Kahr CM9
5) Kimber ProCarry .45

Yes, I have 3 different CW9's. I don't like to carry the CM9, because I don't handle it as well as the CW's, but is a good solution for absolute concealment. I don't like to carry the Kimber, nomally, but I will once in a blue moon if I'm traveling or something, where concealment isn't an issue.

Two of the CW's, and the CM9, Alessi IWB holster on top.

CM9 and Kimber ProEclipse II in High Noon holsters. Now that I have the alloy ProCarry, I don't normally carry the stainless Eclipse anymore.

Past carry pieces...

1) AMT .380 DAO (horrible pistol, but it got the job done...)
2) Colt's Government .380 stainless (great pistol, terrible safety...)
3) Jennings .22 (don't laugh, it's the only pistol I've ever had to draw to defend myself, and the mere sight of it sent the cretins in the other direction.)
Are those HighNoon holster?

Over the last 60 years I have gone from S&W MODEL 58 through 10mms,45s,38s, but always one at a time.
I don’t rotate or change for seasons. Age,physical fitness, and reason for carry have dictated what and why I carried over the years.
Requirements on ranch are different than LEO needs or city living.
Due old age and infirmities, I am down to a SIG P365. I think it is probably the most practical carry gun of all I have packed over the years.
Over the last few years it has been
Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm
Colt DEFENDER 45
Kahr CW45
Kahr CW 9
SIG 365

While I've owned at least 5 carry guns, most of them were sold or traded because they didn't work for me. So:

1) Kimber K6s DAO 3"
2) Ruger LCP (for when I can't carry the Kimber)
3) CZ P10m. And I HATE that I have a 3rd, but I do a lot of wade fishing where the gun ends up submerged for hours on end and I wasn't going to do that to a revolver, and I didn't think the LCP would hold up to the silty river water long term. I've yet to actually carry this though, so I might end up not liking it and just go back to the LCP for fishing.

That's it.

20230621_021737.jpg Varies a bit based on what I am doing any given day. But #1 has been my main since I got it.
1. IWI Masada 9s
2. Ruger Sp101
3. CZ P07
4. RIA 1911
5. S&W 69

Also have a Canik TP9 Elite SC that randomly gets taken out. And once my holster comes in FN 510 Tactical will get added to the rotation.

CZ 75 Compact 9mm
Glock 43X 9mm
Ruger LCP .380 ACP
S&W 642 .38 Special
Ruger SR 1911 4.25” .45 ACP.

There are pluses and minuses to each, but these are my favorites. :)

Stay safe.
I have a the P01 and the 75 Compact, but I the 75 is my favorite. I believe I also have the same SR1911 you have if it's the 4.25" stainless frame. It's a tac driver.

S&W Model 625-3 .45 ACP
Colt Combat Commander .45 ACP
G26
Taurus 605 357mag
Kimber Pro cdp

My current top 5 (more or less in order of how much I carry it):
  1. SIG P365
  2. A 2nd SIG P365
  3. Taurus 856UL
  4. S&W 442
  5. Colt King Cobra (3" new model)
Honorable mention (tie): Glock 19/CZ PCR*

Once it has been tested out a bit, I suspect my new 2.75" S&W 66 will replace the Colt on the list (uniform cylinder release, slightly larger and heavier frame allowing for quicker follow up shots and better management of magnum rounds while still being small enough to carry).

*If I had to choose, I'm not sure which I'd pick. I like the CZ better and I shoot it much better than the Glock, but it is hard to beat the size, weight and capacity combo of a G19. If I really had to choose, I might drop both for a larger P365XL Macro or a regular (or XL) with 15 round mags if the 17 round Macro mags were a little too long. It would be lighter than the PCR, and I already shoot the smaller standard P365 better than my Glock 19.

1-4 are my j frames. 5 is an lcp I begrudgingly carry at times, and pray doesn't shoot itself to pieces when I need it!
