That's the key words.
Intruders kicking doors in, based on my limited experience in the Army and living in metropolitan cities with gang banger home invasions, usually is done by those who are armed with intent to overwhelm dwelling occupants (They anticipate occupants to be armed with pistols) by element of surprise and speed ... if he/she/they are armed and shooting starts, for me, best countered by high volume/speed return fire that is easier to control.
I have done fast defensive point shooting drills on multiple targets and prefer 9mm PCC over .223/.300 BLK with cheaper practice (AR with 22LR CMMG conversion bolts even cheaper but using same trigger).
And depending on magazine capacity, those 3 extra 9mm rounds may come in handy over 30 round magazines.
Difference between pistol vs PCC velocities (Similar to 9mm vs 9mm Major) demonstrated in following video (And mushroomed JHP will do more damage)

And always train to anticipate MULTIPLE intruders (Front and Back/kitchen/patio door entry also
) like this -
